Hotels in Aizuwakamatsu

The Route Inn hotel brand is reliable, as always. We stayed at Route Inn hotels throughout our entire trip in Japan, and it's definitely worth coming back. However, the breakfast, which was a pleasant surprise at first, felt a bit repetitive after 10 days.

Great value for money hotel for a couple's one-night stay.

The hotel staff were very friendly, the building was clean and I had a pleasant stay. It's the same no matter which Route Inn I stay at, so I'll definitely stay again.

The large public bath was kept clean, and it was a bonus that it was worth it just for being there. I only had breakfast, but I was satisfied with the variety, quantity, and taste, even in times of rising prices. Another plus was that you could take coffee back to your room in a paper cup.

I stayed for two nights. It was a little far from the station, but there was a supermarket right next door, so I was able to get cheap drinks and dinner, which was great. There were also a tonkatsu restaurant and a convenience store nearby, so it was convenient. The large public bath was also clean, and since it was an artificial hot spring, it was very comfortable. I stayed on the 8th floor, so the...

This time, I used it to take the Tadami Line, but it's far from the station, so other than that it was fine. Also, there is a supermarket called Lion d'Or next door, which is convenient.

Fantastic Higashiyama Onsen♨️ The buffet was amazing, and the hot springs were so relaxing 😌 The staff's service attitude was excellent 👍🏻

The friendly service, delicious meals, outdoor hot springs, and even the shuttle service made this a perfect two-day, one-night stay. I'm so grateful that I was able to book this hotel at such a low price, even though it was a weekend! I'd love to stay here again next time I visit the Aizu area.

The room was very large and well-divided for convenient use. The staff provided excellent service in all departments.

This was my first time staying at this hotel, and I was planning to visit Izasumi Shrine. The hotel was smooth from pick-up upon arrival to check-in, and they even offered welcome drinks. I thought, "Maybe they're leaning toward the all-inclusive trend these days?" but I was a little disappointed when they only offered coffee and juice... The room size was pretty good, like a slightly larger business...

An average hot spring hotel, not as beautiful as I'd imagined. The hot spring design was thoughtful, but the buffet food quality was just okay. The artificial beef was a definite drawback. Not a top choice.

Good food and service. Excellent onsen and meal. I will come here again.

very nice hotel especially the location is just few minutes from the station. The breakfastwasgreatandwe are allowedtohave it even before the 6.30am the officialstart time. Will highly recommend it to friends who plan to visit Aizuwakamatsu

Good location of hotel and car park, close to convenient store, friendly staffs

Just few minutes walk from the train station. Suprise me with buffet breakfast even I did not book with breakfast.  The breakfast is decent.  Value for money to stay in this hotel.  The only problem is the wall is not sound proof.  I could hear the next door noise when they speak kindly. It disturb my sleep

Very good for business hotel. Breakfast is superb. Parking place is very well organized.

clean and it’s near the station. will go back again next time

I've stayed at other Toyoko Inn hotels before, but this one felt like it had a wider variety of breakfast options. The shower pressure wasn't the best, but compared to other hotels nearby, I'd still highly recommend it.

Should have booked dinner earlier as it's so popular. As hubby is demon slayer fan. He so excited to watch shaminsen performance. Also there are play areas for both kids and adults. Nostalgia TV GAMEs so popular.

Very unique hotel, room is big and nice.. only down side is the location. Accordingly left my credit card in the room And managed to retrieve in a short notice. Thankful for that. A small retail shop downstairs but only open on certain hours.

Very unique onsen ryokan that has been servicing for years. Food quality is at its best, as well as services. Building may show sign of dated but still functioning perfectly. Good for a weekend getaway!

Impressive, everything is perfect 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Nice staffs, great food, cozy room, ♨️💯💯💯 onsen Fans of Kimitsu no yaiba must visit here

The onsen was wonderful and dinner was also very good. The staff provided excellent service throughout my stay. Since I booked the most affordable room option. the room itself felt a bit outdated, but overall the experience was enjoyable.

It was honestly so pretty. The whole place feels like a proper onsen escape, staff were really friendly, and the open-air bath was just… perfect (especially in the cold, with cliff view and snow fall). Only thing: it’s far from the station... its not possible to walk there, especially in winter. But they make it easy, they have a shuttle to Ashinomaki Onsen Station, and there’s also Bus No. 12 from...

Everything was great – the cleanliness, location, and service. Plus, the hotel provided free hot spring tickets every day for a place just 300-400 meters away. Excellent value for money!

Room is small but clean and they provide amenities. Staff is friendly. Location is near train station.

It was right in front of the station and easy to find, so I had no trouble getting there. Although the building is retro, the guest rooms have been renovated and are new and clean. I was able to relax and enjoy my stay!

The hotel is very basic. You get what you pay for. Overall it is a normal hotel that can be used as a stay to get up early and go to the station.

great location and close to city centre

Very clean hotel and across the street from the bus/train station. Staff are friendly and for me, walkable to most of the historical sites.

This hotel offers good value for money compared to other hotels around Aizu. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The only drawback is that there's no public bath, just a small unit bathroom in the room.

Play only see the line, stay it is quite good, breakfast buffet, overall good, but no hot spring not, not many shops nearby, there are izakayas, the hotel has a certain year

It was a very reasonable stay. I parked my car in the hotel's parking lot and then went sightseeing in the surrounding area. Tsuruga Castle, Nanokamachi Street, and Mt. Imori are all within walking distance, so I was able to explore at my leisure. Breakfast was a buffet, with both Japanese and Western dishes available. I even got some honey, and I was full.

The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and smiling. There's a 7-Eleven and a FamilyMart a little way in front of the hotel, which is quite convenient. They also offer complimentary coffee for hotel guests on the first floor from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, which is a nice touch.

Good location and service. Enough parking space. Good to be here.

There's a small parking lot behind the hotel, with space for about 10 cars. The rooms have central air conditioning and also include a separate heating and cooling unit. This time, I got a double bed, which was a bit firm—a minor drawback. If you choose a one-night stay with two meals (dinner and breakfast), the light food restaurant downstairs is the option.

Hotel very clean and food is good both dinner and breakfast. Location a bit far from town not have shop around but is acceptable to be a Onsen hotel with private area. Hotel staff very helpful. All are great!

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The service was consistently excellent, with friendly and attentive staff who were always ready to help. The location is a major highlight—convenient, easy to access, and close to many attractions, shops, and restaurants. Overall, it offers great comfort and value, and I would happily stay here again.

The facilities and building are old. The hot springs were good. The staff were friendly and impeccable. It was a long weekend, so it was crowded with families. There were times when the toilet lever wouldn't turn back. Facilities are important, but Oedo Onsen has managed to survive the devilish COVID-19 pandemic. I guess we can put up with it in order to prioritize the staff's income. There's a wide...

Wi-Fi was only available in the lobby and didn't work in the rooms. The dinner buffet wasn't great, but the soft serve ice cream for dessert was delicious.

It felt good and I had a great time

There were many dishes on the buffet menu, and everything was delicious. The large communal bath was also spacious and comfortable. I would like to go again.

Very relaxing and good stay with their 3 onsens in this hotel. Just 1 feedback to get hotel shuttle sending guests to town or near by spot location will be more perfect

As the inn is located on the banks of a fast-flowing river, I thought I might be able to hear the sound of the river at night, but the windows facing the exterior walls were double-glazed, providing soundproofing and protection from the cold, making it a great inn. The dinner venue was in the annex, which was about a five-minute walk outdoors. I considered enjoying the hot springs as soon as I arrived...

We had a problem with our reservation (meals), and even when we presented the confirmation email attached to our smartphone that was sent to us at the time of booking, they bluntly demanded we check the details displayed on Shintaki's website (which showed different meal plans). We asked them to look into it, but they replied that it was up to the customer and that Shintaki would not do it. They offered...

The open-air bath at Sennen no Yu seems to be flowing with the river, which is very impressive and I really liked it. I'd like to return someday.

The service from staff was excellent and very thoughtful. Food, although kaiseki, had interesting modern touches and was very good. Pity it doesn’t have the onsen town feel of Shibu-Onsen and the like, but would recommend it for a few days stay. We’d likely return in future.

Take siteseeing bus from Aizu-wakamatzu Station and short walk. Good location.

The room was spacious, the front desk staff were friendly, and the bathtub was large – excellent! Parking was convenient and plentiful, and the staff warmly saw us off when we left.

The food is delicious. The staff are nice. However, the facilities (the toilet seats are old)

It was pretty good, and the waitresses were very friendly!

The spring quality was great and my skin became so smooth. The staff were also nice. I was able to spend a relaxing time here. Thank you very much.

There have everything that I want and great service mind.

I was able to relax. The only disappointing thing was that I was in a Japanese-style room and the carpet smelled like mold.

Traditional Inn with great local food. Highly recommended.

Dinner was especially delicious, especially the grilled sweetfish.

Clean and warming stay. terrific cuisine

The one-night, two-meal package included delicious meals. The Japanese-style room was not a suite, and the toilet was outside the room. The bathing area was small, but the room space and bedding were comfortable, allowing us to spend a peaceful and wonderful night.

We arrived at the inn, soaked in the bath, and relaxed until dinner. The important dinner was served in a banquet-like place and was neither too bad nor too bad. We had breakfast in a room with a hearth. The breakfast had a much stronger sense of local cuisine than the dinner. For the specialty "meppameshi", we chose whitebait. The bento box was sprinkled with perilla leaves, sesame seeds, and pickled...

A beautiful old traditional wooden building in a quiet street. We chose a Japanese room with floor futons though I glimpsed the interior of at least one other room which had beds. Our room was actually 2 large spaces - one set up with the futons on tatami mats and the other set up with a low table, 2 low chairs and the TV. Traditional food served and it is also possible to have lunch and dinner here...

My stay was in wintertime. The hotel is made of old Japanese style house, which did not have sufficient heating system. There was an air conditioner in the room but the room was always too cold to stay and uncomfortable.

The baths and rooms were carefully maintained, and the breakfast of grilled mackerel and freshly cooked rice was delicious, making for a very relaxing stay. Due to circumstances, we were unable to have dinner in the evening, but my companion and I were talking about wanting to return next time for dinner around the hearth. The staff and the landlady were very kind and welcoming. Thank you for your...

The hearth cooking, baths, wooden atmosphere, hot spring town atmosphere, location, and warm service are all wonderful.

It's an old building and everything about it is charming. The meal around the hearth was amazing.

Very cozy atmosphere of an old house with many steps and corridors. It was cool, but you can warm up under the kotatsu. Dinner and breakfast are very tasty and varied. In the irori style, it is pleasant to sit by the fireplace. They cook fish and meat on the fire in front of you. Large selection of sake. The staff was friendly, they were happy to explain certain dishes. The onsen has 2 baths: an open...

An inn in Higashiyama Onsen, Aizuwakamatsu. Both breakfast and dinner are served around the hearth. You can enjoy delicious meals in a tasteful atmosphere. The dengaku, fish, and vegetables are all delicious, but the horse meat sashimi in Fukushima is exquisite. Unlike Kumamoto, it is made only with lean meat and is as soft as tuna. You can enjoy your meal while talking with the friendly staff about...

The room is supper good and clean. Love their onsen so much for both indoor and outdoor. The front desk service is great. Highly recommended to stay here!

Good onsen , Good location The breakfast is good

Above all, the open-air bath offered a fantastic view, and during my morning bath, I was able to enjoy watching Japanese serows on the opposite shore. While the rooms do feel a bit dated, as mentioned in other reviews, the air conditioning and facilities were clean and well-maintained, and I didn't experience any particular inconvenience. Furthermore, the staff were all very polite and attentive, which...

Amazing stay, great breakfast, friendly staff and lovely onsen and river stream outside

Although the facilities are a bit retro, everything is very well maintained. It's really fitting to stay in a historic house like this when visiting a hot spring town. The hot springs were also very comfortable. I hope to have the chance to go again.

The food was great! And the hot springs too ♨️

Great location, good room, for 2night stay at private room as solo traveller, it was great enough than a hostel.

Not a long walk from the station. The breakfast was good, and it was inexpensive.

The location of the hotel is not very close to Aizuwakamatsu Station, but it is walkable, but it is not recommended. Along with dragging a large piece of luggage because the road to the hotel is very rough. The staff must be good. There is also a luggage storage service. The hotel is quite old, narrow, small, and musty. There is no daily cleaning service. But it will clear the room. There are amenities...

room is quite old but clean. staff are very nice. location is good very close to aizu station

Located pretty close to the Aizuwakamatsu JR train station, which is one of the attraction. Overall the hotel/room seems to be slightly old but clean. The room is comfortable and I had good 2 night sleep! Would be great if there's a water cooler/water dispenser (for hot summer days!)

I stayed for one night on a weekday in January. The building is quite old, but with meals served around the hearth and a bath fed directly from the hot spring, I thought it was a great inn. I'm writing this to share some of my thoughts and sad moments. ●The grilled salted rock trout for dinner was absolutely delicious. I could eat it headfirst. ●They turned on the kotatsu and the stove to warm up...

Dining around the hearth is very tasteful, and the grilled salted rock trout and miso-grilled tofu and mochi are delicious!

This is it. I've always wanted to try this. Robatayaki, like something out of a Japanese folktale. It's something Japanese people would do. So I stopped by this place, which I don't often get a chance to go to. It looks simple, but I ended up being surprisingly full. It has a great atmosphere. It might be a good place for those who want to experience the atmosphere! It's strange to think that samurai...

I chose Higashiyama Onsen for my stay during my trip to Aizuwakamatsu. I was attracted by the recommendation for dinner at this inn and decided to stay there. I've stayed at many inns and guesthouses, but the trout grilled over the hearth was absolutely delicious. You eat it from the head up, and this was the first time I've ever had such a delicious meal, with no bones or gills to get in the way....

We stayed as a family of three, including our 3.5-year-old child. While the building's exterior is modest, the classical interior is very charming. Our room faced the Yukawa River, and the sound of the river, combined with the view of the hot spring inns lined up on the opposite bank, enjoyed the hot spring trip atmosphere. While it's a small, likely family-run inn, their meals and bedding were prepared...

Had great experiences onsen at Konjakutei. Although both 2 baths are quite small but no issue. Almost no other user at the bathroom when I was using it. All guests can use outdoor bath at other facility nearby. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, especially breakfast. Room is reasonably big and has private bathroom which not used. Services were exceptionally well.

We booked a room for the Spring Festival holiday as a family of three. During the day, we visited Ouchi-juku and Goshikinuma, and stayed at Higashiyama Onsen in the evening. The hotel is a very Japanese-style hotel. Although the facilities are a bit old, they are very well maintained and considered a high-end onsen hotel. Upon arrival, the front desk asks you to change your shoes and then helps you...

I was very happy with how kind the staff were. The room was also well-appointed, which was very helpful. The food was delicious, both dinner and breakfast. I received a gift at the end, which made me feel the warm hospitality. I would definitely stay here again.

Trip.com showed breakfast and dinner included, but the confirmation email only listed breakfast. Trip.com's price was also the most expensive. The service was good, and they offered a welcome drink, but I was shorted on dinner.

Excellent service; the specially ordered lunch and dinner were both very good.

This hotel the hot spring is higher quality and clean , Good atmosphere, close to nature and streams. The staff are very attentive and provide higher service. Recommend for every generation including the family and couples during multiple activities.
