Kempinski Aqaba is a good hotel, but my daughter was vomiting the entire night after eating at their Lebanese restaurant — they clearly messed with the food there.
Let’s be honest: yes, this is probably the best hotel in Jordan outside Amman. Good location, sea access, solid building. That’s the baseline.
Now the reality.
After dinner at the Lebanese restaurant, our daughter got severe food poisoning. She ate a very basic kebab — nothing exotic — and was vomiting all night. This strongly suggests old or reheated food. For a hotel of this level, this is unacceptable. Whatever they are doing in that kitchen, it is not safe. Avoid this restaurant.
Service overall is weak and poorly trained, with one clear exception:
a woman at reception in a red suit. Professional, organized, calm, and efficient. She arranged our diving perfectly within two hours, last minute, everything flawless. Unfortunately, she seems to be the only person in the hotel who actually understands hospitality. One professional cannot compensate for an entire untrained team.
Breakfast is chaotic and uncomfortable.
Long lines for eggs (15 minutes), long waits for simple tea, small selection, many staff, very little efficiency.
The gym is a joke: tiny, badly equipped, and absurdly located above the lobby, so any noise is immediately heard downstairs. Proper training is basically impossible.
Bottom line:
Yes, Kempinski is the best option here.

Everything was great. Staff were fantastic in their service especially Abdelrazik, Ghofran, Bilal and Jamaica. Each in their own way.

My stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The staff was not professional and did not make me feel welcome. The restroom smelled bad, which made the room uncomfortable, and there were several broken items in the room that should have been fixed before guests checked in. Overall, the experience was far below expectations, and I would not recommend this hotel.

One of the best hotels in Aqaba.. The staff is very professional, spacious rooms, cleanliness+, food+, well-groomed beach with soft sand, minibar (non-alcoholic) in the room - free of charge, but you can’t bring your own alcohol... And we came with shopping from Duty Free 😋 our luggage was discreetly scanned upon check-in and asked to deposit alcohol, but during negotiations we were allowed to take away one bottle of wine 😌 the impressions were very good, we left a tip.

Beautiful beach and hotel area. Very pleasant European decor inside and atmosphere in general. My husband and I arrived just in time for Catholic Christmas; the evening before (Christmas Eve, December 24th) a dessert basket with jam and several small crackers with raisins was brought to our room. It was very sweet and unexpected. The rooms themselves are comfortable, well-equipped and very clean (you can count on cleaning twice a day), but personally I could not get used to the extreme minimalism in decoration: everything was too smooth, everything was too white, I lacked coziness. The view from the room window is fabulous: the blue Red Sea, boats, seagulls and a lot of sun. Among the opportunities that we actively used: a buffet and a room with exercise equipment. The food is varied and very tasty, unlimited tea and coffee (you can order as many lattes, cappuccinos, pots of green tea, etc., including with vegan milk) turn a trip to “breakfast” into measured gatherings until lunch on the terrace overlooking the pools, lawns, clean sand and, of course, the sea... I would especially like to thank the hotel staff for their sincere friendliness and excellent English. The hotel management really does everything possible in the interests of its guests, you can ask for help in any situation. I’ll also tell you a funny detail about our departure:) We packed our things and went down to the hall waiting for the bus, after 15 minutes the manager with a smile brought us a couple of shirts that I forgot in the bathroom 🤦🏻♀️😅 It’s very nice that they check everyone so quickly number and immediately found us to return the shirts 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 PS I greet and thank Maxim, who does not ignore my notes. We ended up in this luxurious place by some miracle, on a last minute tour, for just a few days (less than a week). Rejoice for us, friend 😌♥️

Went here for a night dinner celebration. They don't have great vegetarian options. But the seafood was very fresh. Everyone enjoyed the flavors of their meals.
