Carini Farmhouses in Gharb

We paid very little for a stay in Gozo. However, before booking, one has to be aware that this is not a bargain. You get what you pay for. A lot of things don't function well or are just really dated. The host was very helpful but since it was a collection of a lot of small things she couldn't solve most of them as we didn't even bother to tell her.

The farmhouses are situated in a lovely place, very quiet too. Great for a budget friendly trip to Gozo, just be aware that it's far from a dream.

We stayed here for 10 days. Just 2 of us in Farmhouse No 4 so there was lots of space and this was good. Spotlessly clean with a wonderful gas barbecue on the terrace which we made good use of but there were so many little things which would have made the stay that much better. For example,very poorly equipped kitchen, no cleaning materials, no toiletries other than hand soap (so take your own shower gel), patchy WiFi, jacuzzi didn't heat up and no information folder with details of how things worked in the farmhouse or recommendations for supermarkets or local restaurants (which would have been appreciated). When we asked about an information folder, the answer was "it's all on the internet". One very annoying thing (although nothing they can do about it of course) is that there was no sun on the terrace after about 3.45pm (but this might be a blessing when it's very hot outside!). Whilst we enjoyed our time in the farmhouse, it was just generally a little bit tired in places and felt a bit unloved and we won't return. The agent did provide some bits and pieces when we asked but it shouldn't have been necessary. We didn't hire a car but used Bolt (via the app) to go everywhere and that worked absolutely brilliantly. This included going to the big supermarkets in Victoria to stock up and coming back by Bolt. PS The wine-tasting (with food pairings) at Tal-Massar Winery next door (you can see it from the terrace) is highly recommended!
