Hotel Xlendi Resort & Spa in Xlendi

Xlendi Resort will have a new General Manager next week. I hope he will bring along the much needed refurbishment and staff training. Major extensive changes are imperative before i return to this beautiful location.

Attention!!! One big scam. Do not make online reservations! There are no corresponding rooms on the pages! The hotel is not maintained. The hotel is not cleaned. Breakfast is terrible. I can praise the view from the rooms in the main hotel.

I think this is an up and coming hotel but has a way to go. To be honest we only paid £350 for a week in the height of the season so we did not expect much and we were Very pleased to find our room had a magnificent sea view. It was a bit dated but the hotel is being refurbished. What I can't forgive is the cleanliness on arrival we found other residents food left in the fridge broken glass on the floor after a drive to Lidl and purchasing mould spray and antibac and other cleaning items we now have it clean. This situation does not improve for the daily clean either. Don't want to bang on this could in future be a great place. Have fun working out the lifts?

It all start on the day we arrived.

( I had made the booking through a phone call and made sure to ask the receptionist to send us a confirmation email. The email was sent, stating the price (Euro250) etc..)

Once, arriving and wanted to check in, the receptionist quickly stated that the room would cost us Euro 380 and not Euro 240. It was quite a shock to us, and tried to explain several times that in the email it clearly stated it would cost us differently. Staff was very rude to us at the check in desk and after 1 hour and a half waiting for a reply they managed to give us our keys.
We were suppose to be given a room with a view, but that did not happen at all even though I kindly asked the receptionist to inform us if there was the possibility to change rooms.
We were given a self catering apartment, very old and dull. there were not enough kitchen appliances and we also woke to a big cockroach in the kitchen !!
The double bed ( as requested) was only two single beds placed beside each other. This was very inconvenient.
Moreover room was dirty, we had to ask reception to get us clean towels as the maid did not come in to clean our rooms !
Hotel is old and floor were not cleaned up, leading to sticky footprint and and slippery surfaces. Breakfast was not at all fresh and and quite lacking in choice.

At the least the hotel experiences a wonderful view and great location but I would honestly not recommend it at all !

One of my worst experiences in a hotel. Management was very rude because of a mistake which wasn't entirely our fault, we had to wait over an hour in the reception to just get a manager to address the issue, who just got us on the phone with a director who also was very rude on the phone. When they realised that they were at fault, they just gave us what probably was the worst room in the hotel. We even found a cockroach in the kitchenette which we managed to kill, but was left on the floor for over 24 hours because the maid didn't even remove it from there. Corridors leading to the room were dirty and had an unpleasant smell which once again were not cleaned from Saturday afternoon till Monday morning when we left. Breakfast was also very limited for a 4 star hotel.

The management managed to ruin our holiday, cause apart from its location, the hotel managed to offered nothing decent. I don't recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.
