My friend and I wanted to stay in a hotel near Estadio Azteca so we booked Holiday Inn Mexico Medica Sur. I should have had looked more into this hotel because I never realized it was part of the hospital, which I think is pretty cool for family and friends visiting loved ones.
We arrived early and were greeted by front desk who kindly told us to wait until our room was ready.
The room was very clean and looked great. However, there was a lingering smell we just could not put our finger on and the AC did not go on any higher to ventilate.
My friend and I got ready and walked to Estadio Azteca which was only about a 30 minute walk. When we returned to our room, I decided I needed a shower but the water remained cold no matter what I did to change the knobs.
Otherwise, we had a good night's sleep. It's a very calm, tranquil and comfortable hotel.

Hotel hidden inside hospital, expensive for what it is, looks like previous hospital rooms that were leased to a Hotel. Clean but I prefer something else…

The area is in a hospital zone no restaurants or any close amenities… the restaurant that has the complimentary breakfast is good and there is a Starbucks.. the hotel is nice and the room was good but for me the location was not for me

On top of a Medical clinics
Hotel was not easy to find since it is on top of medical clinics. The first 4 floors are clinics and the 5-7 floor are the hotel. Location is good since we wanted to be near soccer stadium. Área felt secure with nearby restaurants.

Staff was generally friendly. Room service staff was efficient and very friendly. AC is the major issue. I realize there was a heat wave but the AC just does not work well. The hotel is in a medical compound but there are some restaurants and Starbucks on site.

Most of the personal are very kind, the rooms need maintenance, the carpet has a lot of stains that make it look very dirty. The bathroom has black mold and in general looked very dirty, I reported this issue and they did a very good job cleaning the bathroom, but the black mold does not go away that easy. Chances are there is a bigger problem with the black mold than it looks on the surface. The WiFi speed is very low and the TV works with coaxial cable and the image quality is very low (The TV supports 4K if you have your own streaming device).
