Reviews
What sets this hotel apart is that it’s not just another place in a beautiful location (of which Montenegro has many), but a place that has clearly been created with real taste and vision. Every corner, every room feels carefully thought through, elegant, stylish, and perfectly in tune with the breathtaking setting of the Bay of Kotor.
One of the absolute highlights for us was the private jetty right in front of the hotel. Having breakfast there by the water, under the big umbrellas, with the bay opening up in front of us towards the sea, it honestly felt like a dream. During our stay it was often quiet and not crowded, so we were lucky enough to enjoy this magical spot almost entirely to ourselves.
The staff were simply amazing. Authentically warm and kind, and attentive in a way that made us feel more like friends than guests. That made all the difference and gave our stay a truly personal touch.
To give an idea of how special Palazzo Radomiri was for us: we had booked another hotel in Ulcinj for the second part of our trip. But after one night there, we realized nothing could compare, so we turned around the very next day and came back to Palazzo Radomiri, even though it meant leaving behind a prepaid stay of around €1500. It was without question the right decision. That’s how much this place means to us.
If you’re looking for a place that combines natural beauty, thoughtful design, a sense of peace, and the warmest hospitality, this is it. Palazzo Radomiri is not just a hotel, it’s an experience we’ll never forget.
The location is perfect to avoid the cruise-crowd and you can reach the old town with a quick taxi ride.
The rooms are air-conditioned and quiet.
Restaurant is very good and all staff are friendly. The hotel has a lot of stairs but they will help you carry your luggage ;)
However, given the price of our stay we were very disappointed with some of the finer details of the stay.
The TV in the room didn’t work for the length of our stay and looked as though it hadn’t done for some time.
The bikes were in poor condition (we spent a long time pumping up tires and trying to get them fit to use but had to abandon our planned bike ride as it turned out that one of them had a puncture). When we raised these issues with the staff team they said they would help/investigate but didn’t resolve them. The bikes and paddleboards cost extra to hire, which I was a bit shocked by given what we were paying per night to stay here, and given their condition.
We asked twice to have the sauna switched on, but it didn’t heat above about 30 degrees. We complained to reception and were eventually told that it’s a type of sauna that isn’t meant to be hot, which wasn’t credible.
There was no sign of the yoga classes mentioned on the website.
On our first evening we ate in the restaurant by the water. The setting and three of the meals were wonderful, but the fourth meal (a risotto) arrived 30 minutes after the other dishes and when it finally came out was undercooked and very under-seasoned. The waiter was very apologetic and embarrassed.
Payment for our stay was taken up front when we arrived which we felt was an attempt to reduce any leverage that people would have when complaining about their experience. We weren't offered any compensation for all these issues and no one from the hotel has asked us for any feedback on how our stay was.
So all in all, it is a wonderful place but the attention to detail was lacking and I felt as though the hotel was trading on its location and not quite delivering what I would expect for the price tag. If you just want to lie on the terrace you will probably be very happy with the experience, but if you’re hoping to use the additional facilities you might be disappointed.
If you're looking for historical, beautiful hotel in an amazing location I would recommend staying here!

Update September 2019: after we have been there last year two times we are really disappointed. It seems that the owner has changed. The menu including the upper prices seems to be the same. The waiter was quite unprofessional. The tablecloths were full of stains. The food was ok but not great.
The inside is very basic and unlike others, the original dock space hasn’t been extended to maximize the tables - rather the half dozen waterfront tables are positioned to fit the limited configuration. The owner/chef (Budo Popovic) would seem to be driven by non-financial goals which is rare - anywhere.
The service from the sole waiter (the rather irreverent Branco) is incredibly knowledgeable and efficient - albeit rather gruff at first. This place is all about fresh fish and if you are comfortable with it - allow Branco to advise you on what to choose.
We (2) shared a green salad to start with and a good sized ~1kg sea bass which cost a pretty rich E65, but after being filleted - was a very large meal - enough for 3 really and came with grilled veggies. It was perhaps the most delicious fish meal we’ve ever eaten.
We had a bottle of local Chardonnay @E35, a bottle of water and crusty bread - the total came to E120 / $137.
It’s not realistic to expect a movie-version 1970’s era Adriatic/Mediterranean-style dining experience, but Pantagana feels a lot like it might once have.
Not sure about these other reviews saying bad/not fresh food and expensive, was the freshest seafood we had anywhere and price was slightly cheaper than anywhere else on the waterfront. 133euro for 4 people with wine. Steak is also surprisingly good and huge!
Looking over a bay and ordering seafood the expectation is high. Has the shrimp been caught out at sea recently, the fish the 'catch of the day!". The menu was even restricted given rise to even greater expectation but very disappointing in freshness, taste and texture. Not fresh clearly.
The service is good and as I said view wonderful.
