My fiancé and I had the most wonderful stay at Palazzo Radomiri. From the very first moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome and at home.

What sets this hotel apart is that it’s not just another place in a beautiful location (of which Montenegro has many), but a place that has clearly been created with real taste and vision. Every corner, every room feels carefully thought through, elegant, stylish, and perfectly in tune with the breathtaking setting of the Bay of Kotor.

One of the absolute highlights for us was the private jetty right in front of the hotel. Having breakfast there by the water, under the big umbrellas, with the bay opening up in front of us towards the sea, it honestly felt like a dream. During our stay it was often quiet and not crowded, so we were lucky enough to enjoy this magical spot almost entirely to ourselves.

The staff were simply amazing. Authentically warm and kind, and attentive in a way that made us feel more like friends than guests. That made all the difference and gave our stay a truly personal touch.

To give an idea of how special Palazzo Radomiri was for us: we had booked another hotel in Ulcinj for the second part of our trip. But after one night there, we realized nothing could compare, so we turned around the very next day and came back to Palazzo Radomiri, even though it meant leaving behind a prepaid stay of around €1500. It was without question the right decision. That’s how much this place means to us.

If you’re looking for a place that combines natural beauty, thoughtful design, a sense of peace, and the warmest hospitality, this is it. Palazzo Radomiri is not just a hotel, it’s an experience we’ll never forget.

We stayed here for 8 nights for our ruby wedding anniversary. The building, staff and location were all perfect. It is very much a boutique hotel with only ten rooms, making it the perfect alternative to the large soulless chain hotels. Do bear in mind that Kotor is no longer a well kept secret and has become a bit of a magnet for cruise ships and coaches with traffic jams to match. The area would benefit from a boat taxi. There are quieter places to visit north of the hotel, we loved Risan.

Beautiful hotel !
The location is perfect to avoid the cruise-crowd and you can reach the old town with a quick taxi ride.
The rooms are air-conditioned and quiet.
Restaurant is very good and all staff are friendly. The hotel has a lot of stairs but they will help you carry your luggage ;)

We stayed here for 5 nights in one of the family suites. We had a generally positive experience and loved the spectacular location, the quiet luxury of the décor, and the wonderful terrace. The staff were generally very warm and helpful and we liked and used all the different outdoor lounging/eating spaces.

However, given the price of our stay we were very disappointed with some of the finer details of the stay.

The TV in the room didn’t work for the length of our stay and looked as though it hadn’t done for some time.

The bikes were in poor condition (we spent a long time pumping up tires and trying to get them fit to use but had to abandon our planned bike ride as it turned out that one of them had a puncture). When we raised these issues with the staff team they said they would help/investigate but didn’t resolve them. The bikes and paddleboards cost extra to hire, which I was a bit shocked by given what we were paying per night to stay here, and given their condition.

We asked twice to have the sauna switched on, but it didn’t heat above about 30 degrees. We complained to reception and were eventually told that it’s a type of sauna that isn’t meant to be hot, which wasn’t credible.

There was no sign of the yoga classes mentioned on the website.

On our first evening we ate in the restaurant by the water. The setting and three of the meals were wonderful, but the fourth meal (a risotto) arrived 30 minutes after the other dishes and when it finally came out was undercooked and very under-seasoned. The waiter was very apologetic and embarrassed.

Payment for our stay was taken up front when we arrived which we felt was an attempt to reduce any leverage that people would have when complaining about their experience. We weren't offered any compensation for all these issues and no one from the hotel has asked us for any feedback on how our stay was.

So all in all, it is a wonderful place but the attention to detail was lacking and I felt as though the hotel was trading on its location and not quite delivering what I would expect for the price tag. If you just want to lie on the terrace you will probably be very happy with the experience, but if you’re hoping to use the additional facilities you might be disappointed.

We had a wonderful week at the Palazzo Radomiri! The location is just stunning. We stayed in Glorioso which is the room with the balcony and would highly recommend this room, it’s spacious, with a huge bed and has amazing views right across the waterfront. The staff here really cannot do enough for you and are so friendly and welcoming. We missed breakfast on our last morning as our flight home was early and they even left a bag in our room the evening before with fruit and a sandwich. The hotel is an hour stroll into Kotor old town right along the waterfront. It is a lovely walk but because of the heat it’s best to do it early morning or in the evening. Taxis are plentiful though and reception are happy to book one for you. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel if you’re thinking of a stay in Montenegro!

We had a fantastic stay ! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt so genuine and authentic. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

We had a beautiful one week stay at this hotel, which proved the perfect base for exploring the bay of Kotor. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious, ours had a view over the bay. The staff are very helpful and can’t do enough to make your stay perfect - whether that’s booking restaurants or arranging a boat trip to collect you from the hotel’s jetty, they’re all a credit. The restaurant isn’t open at the moment other than for breakfast, but there are plenty of options along the promenade so this wasn’t a problem for us. We highly recommend this hotel!

My wife and I spent 3 days here in Kotor and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay with a very friendly staff! Our historic room had a gorgeous view of the Bay that we will not forget. Thank you to the Hotel Palazzo Radomiri for a great stay!

Honeymooned here while my wife and I stayed in Kotor. Super friendly staff, they were gracious enough to make my wife and I a couple of packaged lunches when we had to leave early in the morning the drive to Dubrovnik, Croatia for a morning flight back home.

If you're looking for historical, beautiful hotel in an amazing location I would recommend staying here!

Simple, but delicious food. I visit this place every time I'm around Kotor bay.
Family business run by the one family with rich history.

A really nice place, authentic and delicious food. We come back on Saturday :-)

Update September 2019: after we have been there last year two times we are really disappointed. It seems that the owner has changed. The menu including the upper prices seems to be the same. The waiter was quite unprofessional. The tablecloths were full of stains. The food was ok but not great.
19.08.2018 Michael
I can only imagine what Kotor and it’s restaurants must have been like 20 or 30 years ago. I’m sure it’s very different now, with several up-scale venues competing for the cruise ship and other tourist $ - offering a more mainstream & stylized dining experience. I also imagine that Pantagana, with it’s traditional Konoba/Taverna vibe, hasn’t changed all that much in that time.
The inside is very basic and unlike others, the original dock space hasn’t been extended to maximize the tables - rather the half dozen waterfront tables are positioned to fit the limited configuration. The owner/chef (Budo Popovic) would seem to be driven by non-financial goals which is rare - anywhere.
The service from the sole waiter (the rather irreverent Branco) is incredibly knowledgeable and efficient - albeit rather gruff at first. This place is all about fresh fish and if you are comfortable with it - allow Branco to advise you on what to choose.
We (2) shared a green salad to start with and a good sized ~1kg sea bass which cost a pretty rich E65, but after being filleted - was a very large meal - enough for 3 really and came with grilled veggies. It was perhaps the most delicious fish meal we’ve ever eaten.
We had a bottle of local Chardonnay @E35, a bottle of water and crusty bread - the total came to E120 / $137.
It’s not realistic to expect a movie-version 1970’s era Adriatic/Mediterranean-style dining experience, but Pantagana feels a lot like it might once have.
19.08.2018 Campbell
Excellent food and amazing location, very small restaurant, service could be "warmer" and a little too "honest" at times but that's part of the experience.

Not sure about these other reviews saying bad/not fresh food and expensive, was the freshest seafood we had anywhere and price was slightly cheaper than anywhere else on the waterfront. 133euro for 4 people with wine. Steak is also surprisingly good and huge!
23.06.2016 George
Wonderful view but food was a let down. At 92 euros was expensive and quality lacking.

Looking over a bay and ordering seafood the expectation is high. Has the shrimp been caught out at sea recently, the fish the 'catch of the day!". The menu was even restricted given rise to even greater expectation but very disappointing in freshness, taste and texture. Not fresh clearly.

The service is good and as I said view wonderful.
