Aagantuk Resort in Dhulikhel

It’s been 10 days and we still haven’t received an email. recently stayed at Aagantuk Resort from Friday, 17 October to Saturday, 18 October. While I had reasonable expectations, several serious issues affected our experience. 1) Door security and privacy The room door was left unlocked overnight while we were out for dinner and through the night. This posed a clear privacy and security risk. When we raised the concern the next day, a maintenance staff member claimed to have checked the door at 4:30 PM on the day of our arrival (we checked in at 1:00 PM). This timeline did not make sense, and we did not receive a satisfactory explanation. We spoke with the Front Office Manager; the apology felt insincere and did not include a concrete resolution. The Resident Manager did not proactively acknowledge the issue or reach out before checkout. We observed the Resident Manager at breakfast the following morning, which did little to reassure us about the urgency of the situation. To obtain clarity, we had to escalate the issue with the front office team to receive a formal email from the Resident Manager outlining what happened. It’s been 10 days and we still haven’t received an email. This significantly eroded our sense of safety and trust in the property’s security controls and required extra effort on our part to seek acknowledgment and remediation. 2) Cleanliness and amenities deficiencies Pool towels were unavailable, and there were no shower curtains in the bathroom. During showers, water spilled onto the bathroom floor, making the experience uncomfortable and messy. Room cleanliness issues included a tea spoon that appeared unclean, with coffee stains from a previous guest visible on the utensil. Linen condition was unacceptable: the quilt cover was torn and had visible blood spots. Impact: These deficiencies indicate gaps in housekeeping standards and hygiene, detracting from comfort and raising concerns about the overall cleanliness of the room. 3) Service recovery and improvements: A formal acknowledgment of the incident with a detailed timeline, plus a clear explanation of how the door could be left unsecured and what checks are in place. Immediate corrective actions: ensure door lock reliability, review key card access controls, and implement more frequent room checks. Thorough housekeeping improvements: replace or thoroughly clean utensils, inspect and replace worn or stained linens and bedding, and reinforce laundry/linen management to prevent stained or damaged items from being provided to guests. Transparent service recovery plus a formal follow-up communication from management. Proactive communication: more timely and sincere outreach from management in similar situations.
