I stayed at Sparkling Turtle Hostel for 14 days in a private room and had a wonderful experience. The owners and their family are incredibly welcoming and hospitable — they truly make you feel at home. The place is very safe, clean, and well maintained. The location is excellent, with easy access to everything you need in Kathmandu, yet it still feels calm and comfortable. One big highlight for me was the internet: fast and reliable, which made it a great place for remote work. This visit was especially meaningful because I first stayed here 11 years ago, and returning again last month felt just as special. The warmth, quality, and atmosphere have been consistently excellent over the years. Highly recommended for solo travelers, long stays, and digital nomads looking for a friendly and dependable place in Kathmandu.

I have amazing expiriance here. Lovely and warm team, that help and take care of everything I was need. Clean, quate, peaceful place, with extrodenary view of all Katmandu valley. Really recommend this place.

Ajeet and his whole family are very kind and welcoming. If you want a safe, incredibly clean, peaceful and friendly hostel come here! I have no complaints. The location was perfect for me, close to monkey temple and more tucked away than other hostels and tourist locations. Overlooks the city. The beds are so comfy and have everything you need! I will come back and am very grateful I came here to begin with.

This was honestly the best hostel I stayed at in Kathmandu. It really felt like a home away from home. The hostel is run by a family and they truly treat you like part of it. I was traveling solo and they made a big effort to make me feel comfortable and safe. At one point they even checked in on me when I hadn’t followed my usual routine, which I really appreciated. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace every morning was really nice. The food was exactly how I like it. It was delicious and felt both fresh and nutritious. The rooms were very clean and since the place is quite new everything feels fresh and well taken care of. The location is also great. It is very close to the Monkey Temple but still in a quieter area that does not feel overly touristy. The place also felt very safe with a gate at the entrance. They arranged my bus to Pokhara and even walked with me early in the morning to make sure I got on the bus. They were generally very helpful with everything and always welcoming. All of this at a very affordable price. I would definitely stay here again. 10 out of 10.

It’s a wonderful family owned hostel. I felt relaxed and welcomed from the moment I arrived. Ajeet and his wife took really good care of everything. It felt like home. Great location in a local area close to the Budda Park and the Monkey Temple. There are shops and restaurants nearby. It’s very clean and quiet. I’ll definitely return here.

Ajeet treated me like family. Speak with him once and you will join the family. His stance on traditional values is inspiring. Guests are to be treated like gods. Truly feel like I'm home, even on the other side of the planet. Thank you Ajeet and family so much for everything you have done for me. My health was poor and I was weary being in a country I didn’t understand yet. I felt confused. From the moment I walked in, the owner put be at ease. I felt that I could finally exhale. I could sense it that while there what he offered was true. He said to feel that the place was as my home and he & his family were as my family. They made me truly feel as such. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and modern. The hot shower was a luxury. My lodging was quite economical but what I was given was priceless. There is a reason this place has such high reviews. I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you, Sparkling Turtle. I wish you much success and happiness! Thank you for your generosity!

We read reviews from other guests and took the plunge, booking 2 nights at Ajeet's Hostel. It was definitely the right decision, as we ended up staying for 6 nights! The value for money is fantastic. The building is clean and was constructed just a couple of years ago. The bed is huge, and there's a hot water shower. Staying here also means sharing the experience with his family, as they run the place in a very personal and welcoming way. It's only 200 meters from the Monkey Temple and the National Museum. They'll help you with anything you need. A big thank you to Ajeet and his family!

Very clean hostel and very accommodating and helpful owner and staff. I stayed in a private room with a balcony with an amazing view of Kathmandu city. They also have a nice rooftop to chill and relax. There are nice restaurants, cafes and bars all within walking distance from the hostel.
