Hotel Nepalaya in Kathmandu

Location is good,
Near Thamel but away from noisy street.

Staff service is good.
Rooftop restaurant food is nice and good view is a plus.

We stayed at Hotel Napalaya on 10–11 February and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing — perfect for a couple’s getaway. We truly enjoyed our time and would happily stay here again.

The location is in the center of the tourist area. The rooms are clean and have hot water. There's a rooftop restaurant with a terrace, which is very convenient, and you can order directly from your room. The food is high-quality and deliciously prepared at a reasonable price. It's simply excellent value for the money.

First of all, I'd like to thank the manager, Kamal.
I initially canceled my reservation due to riots in Kathmandu, but then rebooked after hearing that the city was beginning to calm down. He always provided me with the latest information and made excellent arrangements after the rebooking.

The rooms were spacious, connecting, and had a bathtub. The hot water was powerful and the air conditioning was also excellent.

This type of room was the only one with a refrigerator.

However, the noise from the restaurant above was very loud on the sixth floor, so I recommend staying on the fifth floor or lower.

The beds were available in soft double and firm single sizes.

It's a matter of preference, but I found the softer ones bothersome, like the person next to me tossing and turning.
If you want a good night's sleep, it's better to request a twin room.

There's a water dispenser in the hallway, so you can refill your water as often as you like using the bottles in your room.

Most of the reception staff spoke English and were very helpful and provided a variety of information.

However, I did feel that hospitality varied depending on the person.

There is a laundry service, but the hotel charges per item, so I recommend using one of the many nearby shops that cost 200 rupees per kilo.

The rooftop terrace restaurant has a great view and the food is delicious.
However, I'm not a big fan of the spices used in Nepalese food, so I found Indian curry to be better.

The breakfast buffet 🍽 was slightly changed every day and was delicious.

The restaurant staff were also very hospitable and lovely.

The location is great, just south of Thamel.
It's within walking distance of Durbar Square and Asain Market, and there are convenience stores, markets, and restaurants nearby, so it was a very convenient location.

For this price, it's of this quality. I'm sure there are many other options, but if we come again, we'll definitely book here!

Room arrangements is not comfortable for living. Some parts of room should be repaired. Staffs are not friendly and don’t have service mind.

I e stayed at a few places in Nepal and this one has been my favorite so far. Included breakfast on the rooftop restaurant. Decently clean, comfy beds!
