Augusta Hotel in Ijmuiden Aan Zee

We loved this gem, a beautiful and well mainteined 1907 hotel. We had the top 2 rooms in the attic with really cool antique furniture, beautiful bathrooms and cute balcony overlooking the city. Very friendly staff, gave us great reccomendations for the area we were visiting (old Velsen) and we were able to rent bikes directly from hotel. We also enjoyed the restaurant downstairs and admired the setting for a private party in the library room.

They said that would be the best room: under the roof, spacious, with a wonderful balcony. Only problem: on the day we arrived, the elevator was ready but not yet inspected, and we were not allowed to use it. They would have a room on a lower floor, but they told us it would be much nicer to put in the effort to climb one more stair.

Nice Hotel, wonderful staff, clean rooms, easy to park in the area. Right around the corner is a wonderful coffee roastery and a great bakery.

This hotel in IJmuiden has a long history and yet is still very well maintained, feeling like new inside ancient walls ! It was built one century ago and kept its style and decoration from that time. The room I got was very spacious, with very high ceiling, big bed, living-room area with massive couch and large TV screen. The bathroom wasn't small either. Also, the receptionist was very helpful, even when I arrived at 9pm. And the buffet style breakfast was very tasty and with large selection. All in all, a very good surprise ! I'll go back there at next opportunity !!

I recently stayed here with a delightful 1930s design that blends vintage aesthetics with modern functionality. The hotel exudes a cosy and warm atmosphere, with stylish décor and an inviting entourage. The room was impressively spacious, clean, and equipped with both a bathtub and a heater, offering a comfortable and relaxing experience after a long day.

What stands out the most is the antique furniture and decorations throughout the hotel. They add a touch of nostalgia while providing all the modern conveniences one could need. The breakfast served each morning was delicious and varied, offering a great start to the day.

The hotel also features a French-style dining restaurant that serves exquisite dishes. I had the pleasure of trying all their offerings, and I must say, the taste was exceptional. The portions are on the smaller side, so I recommend getting an appetizer, main course, and dessert for the full French dining experience.

The hospitality here is exceptional, with friendly and helpful staff who made my stay warm and welcoming. I stayed for about a month on business, and the service never wavered.

The hotel is ideally located between a small town, the DFDS Ijmuiden office, and the ferry terminal. It’s just a 2-minute walk to the bus stop, which offers easy access to Haarlem or Beverwijk for train connections. For nature lovers, it’s a 15-minute bike ride to Ijmuiden Beach and a 30-minute ride to Kennemerland National Park. You can rent a bicycle and Ebike here. Overall, the price is reasonable for the experience, and I’ll definitely be returning!

Cosy hotel and restaurant in IJmuiden!
We stayed there and had dinner, too. The hotel is centrally located, not that far from the seaside, with easy access to the motorway to Haarlem or Amsterdam. It’s an old building, however well maintained and with ton of charm. The service is very friendly and attentive. The individual rooms are well equipped with old however functional furniture. The staircase is a little steep so watch out! The only negative comment however is the mattress which is definitely too soft. The food in the restaurant is great and tasty. Same for the breakfast with all you need to start into a new day. The price level is OK but also not cheap. If you want to stay in that area, it is a good choice to experience nice service in a very charming Dutch atmosphere.

This was a last minute booking and we were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of this art nouveau hotel. Staff very courteous and upgraded us to a luxury room on he top floor with a private balcony.

We stayed here for an overnight before commencing our cruise. Lovely little hotel with very friendly staff and a very short walk to a fabulous restaurant De Meerplats on the harbour. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Great cocktails at the bar.
