The staff are the nicest people you'll meet in any hotel in the area. The cafe downstairs has a very nice menu but the thing that sets it apart is the assortment of wines and the gentleman that shows them to you literally knows about every one of them and takes the time to explain each one. If you want a quaint little getaway them this is your place. I miss it already.

I'll give this 3 stars not because it's a 3 star hotel but because it does simple cheap accommodation well. It's a no frills single room in the middle of town. Clean and well maintained. Slippery bathroom floor. Stairwell smells a bit but it's perfectly clean, may have been strange industrial chemicals.

A nice hotel for the price they are asking, however had little unpleasant moment, when I prolonged the check-out till 1400 only to find out my card defaulted 12:00 so couldn't get in the building without visiting the main reception at Ambassador Hotel. Great location, quiet surrounding. The executive suite comes with a mini bar with drinks and snacks, as well as Heineken beer and wine. Also, the restaurant at the hotel is beautiful! Also delicious! We had dinner twice in a row and both were delicious and the service was very friendly. There is a park opposite the hotel, which is suitable for children to play.

Despite the Fact that the Windows in the barrel room was very warm - it was at this time the weather in Amsterdam was very cold and windy (old-timers say that such cold weather was about 20 years)! This was my favorite hotel if my whole vacation. Very friendly hotel staff and not pretentious at all. When checking in, I asked if where the best place to park the car would be, and the receptionist let me know of a street with free parking all the locals seem to use. The hotel restaurant is also decent, with non guests eating there.

Hotel is very near the center of the attractions of Haarlem, so very convenient location. The executive room is comfortable with enough spaces. Staff is professional and friendly. Just one thing that we would prefer firmer mattress for our backs.

Property was under renovation and was not told or offered a room on a higher floor. Workers started working before we woke up. Also no signs for doors so staff entered while we slept (jet lag) without waiting for a response after knocking.

The facilities were excellent, staff was very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is ok. The only drawback is it's a 10-minute walk to restaurants. However, the neighborhood is very beautiful, so it's a pleasant 10 minute walk.

It's not bad. Many Chinese people live here for business trips. It's close to nearby companies and you can walk to the company. Overall, I'm very satisfied. It would be better if the room could be a little bigger.

Excellent central location in the heart of the old marketplace. Easy 15 minute walk to the train station which was better than taking a taxi due to mainly pedestrian traffic location. Staff were great. Lobby and restaurant were very good- great breakfast. However they are slowly renovating rooms and hallways- floor 1 (where our room was)has not been completed. The hallways are half painted with wires from previous lights hanging out. The room was very clean and beds comfortable. The location is perfect.

I must admit, The Ambassador hotel surprised me. The restaurant and bar are top class! The barman can mix any cocktail you want as he is very experienced and well focused on the customers. The bedrooms are reasonable and comfortable.  I would highly recommend this hotel as it’s close to town and all the shops and restaurants.

Nice location, but too hot in the room. There’s no airconditioning. Just needed a good rest but unfortunately.. won’t book it again, especially in summer time

Whenever I go Netherlands I used to stay this hotel which is very clean specious room. Hotel is in quite location 10minute Walk from train station. Free wifi, lovely breakfast and coffee. I wish to visit this year too.

Hotel is great value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is 15mins walk from the station or 1 stop on the bus. Location is great for exploring Haarlem. Room was spacious and very clean. You don’t get any amenities provided but that is standard for European hotels at this price range. Would be happy to return.

A bit far (20 minutes) walk from the Station, but it closed to the Main Street. If they can provide water bottle/ kettle that will be perfect.

I stay at the hotel for a night, it was a wonderful stay. The parking lot is near the hotel ask the hotel staff if you can’t find it. Also,The hotel manager and the staff is super nice whom helped me jump started my car in the morning. Super nice hotel staff , definitely recommend them if you stay in the area :).

The hotel receptionist was very nice and let us check in at 10:30 in the morning. The hotel is in a great location and the bed was easy to sleep on. However, the cleaning was not very clean. We paid the city tax when we checked in. Maybe there was no handover when we checked out. You have to charge us again! Remember to ask for details at the counter to avoid similar situations!

This is a real Boutique Hotel. Rooms are decorated with a unique design that not anyone will like. It took me half a day to get to love it. The location is good, but not in the center.

Very upscale hotel. I feel pretty well here. Spacious rooms, large windows, beautiful modern bathroom, stylish room furnishings and a classy breakfast room. Simply dignified ambience; everything a traditional house can boast, I found it here. In addition, in the middle of the village, just great.

An absolute gem hidden in the beautiful area of Haarlem! 20 minute walk to downtown area or a 5 minute drive. Nice area to run in the forests across the street if you're an active person. Multiple wonderful restaurants are well within walking distance (20 minutes). Sebastian was a fantastic host and housekeeping made sure it was a pleasure to arrive back in the room after a long day!

Checking in could not be simpler but to do it you need to find a member of staff in the bar. The hotel is above a busy bar but noise from this is not too bad. It is in the bar that a decent breakfast is served although the coffee is really strong. I stayed in a single room which although small was workable. We stayed 3 nights and this was a great place to explore both Haarlem, the Church is fabulous, and Amsterdam. Room was just what we needed, clean and comfortable. Breakfast Buffet was amazing and owners and staff went out of their way to take care of us.

I stayed here with a friend for 3 nights. We had 2 single rooms on the second floor, 22 and 24. We had a really good experience. The staff were warm and friendly and seemed to be a good team ( thanks particularly to Anna). The hotel was warm and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. Each room was plainly furnished and had tea making facilities, toiletries, hairdryer and even a box of tissues...

Pros and cons to this place. On the upside, it's really well located in central Haarlem. Strongly recommend staying in Haarlem and getting the train in and out of Amsterdam (10 minutes). This was the cheapest private room I could find in the area, and it was ideal for sightseeing around Haarlem because of its central location. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the wifi was good. The room needed a deep clean though, and everything seemed old and outdated. The TV was too small and I couldn't get it to work. However for the price (considering the cost of everything in Holland...

Hotel Maltz is a lovely B&B hotel operated by Henk and Anna Marie. Their attention to guests is wonderful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is in the heart of Haarlem with easy walking to local food and shops. It is a smaller town with many extras.

Anne Marie and Henk were incredible and gracious hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and to provide advice about nearby places to travel to and things in town to experience. Their breakfasts were wonderful, diverse and filling. And our room was spacious and very comfortable and quiet. This is the third time we have stayed at Hotel Malts. Henk and Annamarie are wonderful inn keepers, professional but so friendly. It is like visiting old friends. The facility is clean and comfortable. The breadfasts are wonderful. We loved chatting with the other guests at breakfast. This is our go to place in Haarlem.
