Postillion Hotel Amersfoort Veluwemeer in Putten

The waterfront terrace is especially fantastic. The restaurant was also excellent. Delicious food and friendly service. The hotel room was neat and clean. We definitely recommend this hotel.

At breakfast, many things were often empty

We had a wonderful and relaxing getaway at Postillion hotel. There was a special 2 night dog package with 3-course dinner that we did. You can see in the photos there was a special treat for our little guy and it was love that he was welcome to dine with us on the terrace. Unfortunately I did not take a photo of our room, but we had a walkout door on the lake which was great to watch the sun set, enjoy a morning coffee and get some sun.

We also rented bikes for the day and went to Harderwijk. That was a surprising and lovely experience.

The three course dinner was nice and the options changed each day. I am gluten free and this was not a problem. In the morning we had the buffet breakfast and there was gluten free bread in request.

We really lucked out with the weather and we really hope to come back as it was easy to get to and a way to enjoy nature and get out of the city. We saw some people really knew how to enjoy this perfect getaway as they brought their own bikes and picnic blankets and even lawn chairs to fully enjoy the nature. I am not sure if you can swim right there, but there were many nice swimming spots very close. The water was shallow and someone brought their own SUP and used it at the resort!

I’m very surprised to read other poor reviews of this place after staying here. My experience was excellent! Free parking, friendly and helpful staff, clean, spacious rooms with comfy beds, an amazing view of the lake and sunset, plus a huge selection of breakfast foods in the morning.

Yes, there are refugees here too and I met two of them in the hall on my way to my room. They were friendly and said hi back to me. They were no problem at all!

It’s overall a nice hotel with friendly staff and good service.
The rooms are spacious, bed was comfy and AC working well. We did have some bugs on the wall and it could have been cleaned better.
Although the hotel itself is dog friendly the dogs are not allowed on the nearby beaches from May to October. So we wouldn’t come again in these months. There’s a dog beach on the other side but you need a car and it costs about 5eur parking.
For the price we paid for breakfast I expect more choices and was very disappointed. Many things were also empty and only after asking did they refill them.
Parking is free, you need to have the ticket validated by reception.
