Where to stay in South Holland

This is the worst hotel I have stayed at for this price range. The front desk first assigned a room that was already occupied, then the replacement room had unusable power outlets, and the final room was missing slippers and bathrobes. Communication was also ineffective—even after we showed the staff our bath bag to explain our request, they misunderstood and still only sent over slippers and bathrobes...

Friendly and courteous front staff, big rooms and comfortabele beds

The staff were very welcoming, the room was clean, it was my second stay at this property. I was just missing bath robes and slippers. Overall it was a nice stay.

This is the first time for us to stay here. The hotel room and the bathroom is quite large. The location is perfect, silent and safe. We really love this hotel.

Disappointing Stay in the Corner Suite Booked the Corner Suite with Club Lounge access—expected comfort and style, but left disappointed. Room was large but dark and poorly furnished: just one chair in the sitting area, no minibar, and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The beds were terrible—mattresses felt ancient, likely 15+ years old. Bathroom counters oddly high, clearly not designed with practicality...

Wonderful to be able to check in in the evening after having contact with the receptionist by phone. Room was very clean, and cozy. Had a view on a square next to the city centre. 100% recommended and would love to come back again

In room details, it states there is a minibar, in fact, there is none. We asked the reception for the missing minibar, it seems that only suite room has one. Overal stay is good.

The location is very good, very close to the city center and just a few minutes from Chinatown. The only drawback is the carpet in the room, which had visible stains, and a few moldy spots on the silicone in the bathtub.

Clean hotel in a central and convenient location (a few minutes walk to a tram and bus stop). The reception smells good and the staffs are nice. Our room looks a bit outdated though we got one with a tub. However, it felt unsafe to use as it gets slippery when wet. It’s safer to add an anti-slip surface. Hope the hotel considers that. Regardless, this is a highly recommended hotel.

Room was well kept. Coffee machine was not that good, nor very clean. The coffee machine downstairs used to be on for customers but it's been off for a long time now. The bathtub in the small room was a good bonus. Very quiet area and super central. Check-in was a bit slow despite people just chilling in the back😅

Very good location in the city center. Ideal for a few days city trip or business travel. Cleaning can be improved as well as a general renovation of the rooms.

The room was pretty clean and cozy, the balcony was quite spacious, the bed was comfortable. There was a little back and forth related to final settlement, I wish that could've been solved more easily.

The hotel has a great location and a comfortable lobby. While the rooms have some limitations due to the building's age, they still meet basic travel needs. They're sufficient for exploring the city, although the rooms are a bit cramped; however, this is typical of European hotels.

The room was very clean and air-conditioned. It was close to the station and major attractions. It was about a three-minute walk from the Queen's Palace. The facilities were relatively new. The soundproofing was good at night. It was better than expected.

I booked the smallest room, and it was a bit uncomfortable because there weren't many outlets. A small table would have been nice. However, the view was beautiful and romantic.

The plates smell of egg. The seating area in level 1 cloth seats needs cleaning customers hair left. Great location and friendly staff and good quality building. Good quality is not great and breakfast choices are very limited. Management needs to take some quick actions to the above.

It’s a great hotel, friendly staff, comfortable. But unfortunately I slept quite bad because of noise in the corridor.

Excellent location and clean rooms. It’s a perfect base for exploring, though be aware that the signal is weak in certain parts of the room. Great for a comfortable stay if you don't mind the occasional connectivity hiccup.

The hotel staff was very unfriendly. The room was not the one we had requested, and we requested either a change of room or, if a change was not possible, an additional reservation, but neither of these requests were accommodated. The problem seemed to be due to an error in the room reservation system, but I was surprised at how unfriendly the staff was.

The room is not big, but the facilities are complete, the service is smooth and fast, the front desk is warm and friendly, and the surrounding transportation is convenient. It is very close to The Hague Central Station, which can be reached in 2-3 minutes on foot. The directions on the way are clear. There are many types of breakfast, which look very delicate and taste good.

10 mins walk from train station, room is very clean with kettle, tea and coffee provided. Staff is very friendly.

Lovely lounge to wait in and also a gym

We had a really good stay at the James this weekend. A group of friends and I visited Rotterdam for the weekend, this was the perfect base. I very useful serve yourself food court in the hotel allows you to access food and drinks 24 hours. The rooms we large, comfortable and well furnished. Overall a great trip, great value and would visit again.

Short and comfortable stay. Staff are attentive, and the hotel's interior is sophisticated and bright. Love the interior additions of the Delft Blue glassware and Ikea. Handy for people with a car, with free parking and immediate access to the highway.

The location is a bit remote, just next to IKEA, which is inconvenient if you don't have a car. However, the hotel decoration is OK, the room is spacious, and the front desk service is also OK.

Pretty clean room, although easy to hear people in the next door room. No shower curtain or glass to stop water getting all over the bathroom, which was strange. Great location next to the airport though and staff were pleasant.

A very beautiful hotel! The location is fantastic! The front desk and doorman services were also excellent! The only downside was that the room wasn't cleaned perfectly on the third day, but otherwise it was impeccable. It would be my first choice again if I ever came to The Hague!

I have stayed here before when I was in Europe and was amazed to receive the same level of service. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and spacious and the location is perfect….a 5 minute walk to the train station and 10 minute walk to the heart of Leiden shopping. I will definitely stay here again.

The room was clean ,clean towels changed regularly although bin in bathroom wasnt emptied the last 3 days. The reception staff were efficient and helpful .

POSITIVE : the location was good because we had a car, including the secure parking garage. The hotel email telling us the address of the car park wait area was good to receive, BUT to not mention the massive amount of road works getting to it was a major problem. Not the best night’s stay The room was stuffy and there was no air conditioning. The shower was very disappointing - the water that came out of the shower-head more like a dribble! The pillows were lumpy and not very comfortable. Sadly we didn’t spend a very good night at the Tulip Inn.

The room was big. It is located in the heart of a shopping street. The downside is that the breakfast area is located some distance from the hotel, but it is within the same building. I went there for a conference from 26th to 27th February 2026.

It is my 4th or 5th stay at this hotel. It is good and practical to explore Leiden and get to Schiphol airport. Rooms are big enough for two persons. This time we stayed on the 11th floor. It is more cumbersome to get there as you have to change elevators, but the room was more spacious. The newly renovated reception looks good.

For the 4 nights I stayed, they didn't make up my room before the last night.

Only one socket for charging in the room, bed mattress is poor quality a collapsed one, toilet door has big gap visible from the room lacking privacy, only paper cups were provided in the room, need to get normal cups from reception

The location is excellent – very central and convenient. The room was quite spartan but had everything we needed. Cleanliness was generally good, although there was a strong odor in the bathroom that was hard to ignore. Breakfast was simple and not particularly varied, but it was perfectly adequate for a few days. One downside: parking was extremely expensive.

A fifteen minute walk from the Centraal station but also close to a tram line. The hotel is built inside 'The Passage ' shopping area and is a lovely hotel. We had an excellent room and Bas on check in really looked after us and our room was ready early. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was excellent and the bar had local beers and also a good range of European wine and other beverages....

We came for a weekend stay with family and got a free upgrade to executive suit. The hotel welcomed us with a cosy atmosphere, play area for kids and a breakfast with exactly the right balance of choice, quality and taste. The hotel is in an excellent location in the city centre, near tram and at a historical shopping passage.

The hotel itself is very nice, the staff are helpful and efficient and the rooms are w well equipped with smart TVs and large comfortable beds. The price I paid for my stay was also a fair bit less than competing hotels were charging for the same dates. The location is a little out of the way if you aren't driving though so bear that in mind. We coped fine getting Ubers to the metro station at Slinge...

The room was clean, the double bed was quite comfortable, and it was very quiet thanks to the two windows, which provided good soundproofing. You need to bring your own slippers and toiletries. The breakfast was passable. It's suitable for business travelers as you can work at your desk in the morning and enjoy the view.

The Hotel Bastion is a good place to stay. Clean and neat. Not many place to visit close by. 20 minute ride to good restaurants in Rotterdam Centrum.

The location is super convenient! It's a pet-friendly hotel, which is great. It's a shame there's no parking, though. The room itself was a decent size, but the heating was incredibly weak, and I was cold all night. They do provide water on the first floor.

We stayed at Ibis Rotterdam City Centre for three nights. The location is great and the staff were generally friendly, but unfortunately we had repeated issues with the room heating. On the first night, the heating in our room (112) was not working and we were very cold. Since no technicians were available at night, the reception could not offer a solution, and the problem was fixed the next morning...

Very good location near to Metro n other public transport . Just opposite the hotel there is Jumbo supermarket where u can get your snacks n necessary item , breakfast bread items n etc . There is a lovely canal outside of the hotel . Within walking distance landmarks Markthal

A little walk from Rotterdam Blaak Station. The location is pretty near to the attraction in Rotterdam. Overall still ok, it would be better if they can provide some water of electric kettle to customer.

The hotel is near the market and the Cube House. In addition, it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the pier to the Children's Dike. The room has a terrace and a record player. The only drawback is that the water pressure is low.

This Holiday Inn in the heart of The Hague, among its attractive sites and great restaurants, particularly impressed me by the hospitality of its staff, which began at the reception by Karin and Thiimen and continued warmly during breakfast by the team of Alex (specially amazing), Tisha and Julli.
