Reviews
Everything was great. We enjoyed both Spa and food. At lunch was big selection of food, good surprise were sushi at the table.
This year we decided to go again at same time of the year. SPA was great as always, love Herbal and crystal rooms, but...
Lunch was under expectations. And now I am not speaking about the service. Service from waiters and cook was at good level.
BUT, what happened with the Food?
First of all selection of main dishes were only fish and chicken. Fish was selected, tasteless fish with tasteless sause, no flavor, nothing. Starter tasted much better then main dish. When we wanted to give a chance and try chicken, it was already empty and there was no refill. If we knew, we would eat only starters. Cheese cakes were good.
Next time we will book Spa, it will be 100% without food.
Great breakfast and bar lounge.
Massage was great.
Spa facilities are great.
Negatives:
Reception immediately tries to sell you things when you arrive, not welcoming.
Lack of English speaking staff.
Spa gets so crowded it is unusable after 4pm.
Creepy atmosphere and there is degenerate artwork all over the place.
TV in rooms have no channels and you cannot link your streaming apps to them.
Wifi was terrible, constantly cutting out.
Starting with the positives: the spa area is well maintained, relaxing, and clearly the strongest part of the hotel. If one visits primarily for the spa, it offers a pleasant experience.
However, the accommodation and service quality did not meet the standard one would expect at this price level.
Room Experience: We booked an Ocean Superior room, which turned out to be disappointing. Although it is technically possible to see the ocean from the balcony, the main view from the bed was a road rather than the sea, which felt misleading for this room category.
The room itself was:
• Small and clearly outdated
• Missing basic modern amenities (it was not possible to connect a phone or PC to the TV, no YouTube, no Netflix)
• Lacking essential items such as hand towels and a floor towel after showering
• No safe in the room, which is surprising for a hotel of this category
Housekeeping was also below expectations: the bed was poorly made, and overall attention to detail was lacking.
Breakfast: Breakfast was very basic, with a limited selection. It did not compare favorably even to several 4-star Strawberry hotels, which often offer a broader and higher-quality breakfast experience.
Overall Impression: The hotel appears to rely heavily on its spa offering, while the rooms, housekeeping, and breakfast experience fall behind. This creates an imbalance between price and overall value.
Conclusion: In summary, Farris Bad may be suitable for a spa visit, but as a complete hotel experience, it does not currently justify its pricing or reputation. With updated rooms, improved housekeeping standards, and a better breakfast offering, the experience could be significantly improved. Until then, I would be hesitant to recommend it for an overnight stay.
We were welcomed by the lovely Anja at the reception, who was so kind and helpful. She explained everything with such warmth and made us feel right at home from the very first moment.
There’s always something happening here — I also joined a yoga class and did a face scan to check my skin health, which was really interesting!
The spa area is amazing — with a jacuzzi, pool, and cozy atmosphere. But my absolute favorite part was the rituals: the Afternoon Reset, Theme Aufguss, and Peeling Ritual followed by a refreshing dip in the sea. Every sauna master had their own special touch, which made each session unique and memorable.
And the Fjord sauna overlooking the sea? Just magical. You almost forget the heat because the view is so mesmerizing — I could’ve stayed there forever!
