Beach cottages on the south eastern part of the Mahe island. We spent there 8 nights in October as a couple.
The cottages are well maintained, the kitchen is well equipped with dishes and electrical devices including a stove, an oven, and a kettle. So it is quite conviennent to cook dinner inside and eat either in the small dining area or on the balcony.
The cottages are built as two adjacent apartments, but we felt very comfortable and separated from our neighbors which we have barely seen or hear. The bedroom is wide, aircondioned, with a daily cleaning service.
The beach is amazing. Just 20 meters away (or slightly more if you take the rear family cottages), front line to the cottage door. It is mostly empty, with mostly the residence guests or local fishermen or just other bypassers (rare). There are some nice locations for snorkeling, with colorful and interesting sea life. The sea itself was mostly quiet (October) with very low waves, but still quite platto in its first few dozen meters.
The residence is very quiet through the whole day and night. The spacious garden is nice and we used it to sun bath on the sun beds (which are not allowed on the beach itself for turtle protection reasons).
Brigitte the host is extremely nice and helpful. She was very kind to assist us in everything we wanted to do in the island - e.g book a tour and coordinate everything.
Her warm welcome and initial explanations helped us a lot.
The residence is located quite far from the main island attractions, which was great for us as we wanted a very quiet vacation. I guess a car is obligatory, although public transportation is available as well (didn’t try it).
The residence is a starting point for the trek to Anse Capucin trail which leads to two almost abandoned beautiful wild beaches.
On the downside, we were slightly disappointed that we needed to purchase our own toilet paper, and some basic stuff such as salt and pepper, which in our humble opinion could be provided as part of the great service they already offer. We were also disappointed not to have an option to stay 1-2 hours more on checkout after 8 nights, as our flight left on the evening time, but the staff was inflexible on the issue.
To summarize, we warmly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet residence, with a wild beach and self catering. Thank you Brigitte for your nice hospitality and we will definitely visit you again.

I spent a week here and it was a wonderful experience. The beach and surrounding area within the compound was heavenly. The Chalet itself was extremely comfortable and the Aircon at night was great and I was able to sleep well. During the day I had the windows and door open and I enjoyed the nice breeze and views of the Ocean. Remember to bring your snorkeling gear and reef friendly sun screen as the beach front area is incredible. I was looking for a nice relaxing beach experience in Seychelles that was quiet and not resort like. The Chalets D'Anse Forbans were spot on and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay. This place is incredible and a real gem on Make.

Great experience with amazing hosts (Brigitte - super friendly and helpful). Nice territory around the houses and right in front of the beach. Overall very peaceful place, quiet, private and with very few people around, perfect for a relaxing stay.

The chalets are spacious, well-equipped and clean with a veranda for enjoying the very peaceful surroundings. The stunning beach is a few steps across the grass; it was empty during our visit and felt like a private beach. The beautiful warm sea was a little wavy in September, which is unusual for this time of the year. A car is fairly essential, there is little within walking distance, and it would be a shame to miss the other beautiful beaches. Apparently, there is a good local bus service. The owners are delightful, extremely helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

The chalets are great! They are clean and very comfortable. The location is very beautiful and quiet. The anse forbans is the second most beautiful beach we have seen on the Seychelles.
A shop, where you can buy everything you need, is like 10 minutes away by foot. We also felt safe there. Not everybody can enter the area/gate just like that.
The owners of the chalets and the whole staff are very very polite!!
I recommend everyone staying at Chalets d’Anse Forbans (if you are fine with self catering)!

From owners welcoming smile, Brigitte, made sure all was good. I really like when the property owner is available and involved, it makes things just go so much better. The bungalows are as advertised, steps from the very quiet beach with perfect swimming/floating enjoying the warm water. The bungalows are clean well taken care of with all the basic self catering needs. A quiet place to do your own thing. we loved our stay. Notes: You will need a car. The resort is a distance from most things. The Hilton is a 150 meter walk down the beach for pretty expensive meals if you want. Fruit stands and basic food need are 5-10 minutes by car. The good snorkeling is just past the little reef if your a confident swimmer. You can't take the lounge chairs down to the beach due to turtle activity and high tides will take them away. When we come back, we will stay here again.

A wonderful and well kept property, a few steps away from a truly amazing, secluded, tropical beach - maybe not so known in Mahe as some of the others, but nicer then most.
Chalets are very nice, comfortable, clean and well equiped. We had the 2 - bedroom one which really felt like a home.
A few family members run the place and they are a group of genuinely dedicated and pleasant people that do everything to make your stay a better experince.
Overall, a wonderful place to stay and explore Mahe. But even during those rainy or lazy days when you dont feel like exploring, its a great place to spend the day and relax in peace and privacy.

Our first visit to the Island was 15 years ago and during a trip out exploring we found paradise in the name of Chalet Anse Forbans and promised ourselves if we were lucky to return this is where we would stay .............. and we have been on a number of occasions and every time we are welcomed back like long lost friends. What we love the most about our stay every time is how relaxed we become the minute we drive through the gates. There is no need to stress about what to wear for dinner, breakfast on the veranda listening to the waves, lunch on a nice shady picnic table, walks along the deserted beach, snorkeling or just lazing on the sun loungers is our idea of bliss. On this trip which was after a 5 year break mostly due to the pandemic we were nervous that our memories of past stays would not match up but we were not disappointed it was every inch as we remembered and we hope more than anything that Bridgette, Daphne, JP and Lisa are able to continue providing 5 star hospitality. Thank you all for all that you do in making our stay beyond perfect, for always allocating our favourite end of the complex and allowing us to move our picnic table to the shade 😎 Cannot wait to return in 2024 in the meantime just know this you are doing a GREAT JOB 🙌

Thank you for hosting our wonderful stay ! If you are considering this location, I would recommend it. The host was extremely reactive and helpful and pleasant with great local knowledge and ideas about what to do. The beach just meters away is breathtaking. Rent a car and explore the island - there is so much to do and see. Wifi is less than 1mb/s but we were able to reliably stream Netflix on our laptop with a bit of patience. The chalet was clean and we slept comfortably. Ceiling fans and AC will keep you cool if you want it. Thanks again for all your help ! - Peter

A little off from the action (beau vallon) but there are some hiking trails close if you are into that.
Nice beach infront.
Self catering is why there is only 4 stars.
Breakfast would be great even if it's fruits only.
Nice rooms and very nice lady who knows some good dining spots.
Dining is recomendend in the hotel (hilton) close to the chalet.
You probably need a car if you wabt to explore the island.
Share your experiences, help others make the right choice!
