Feelathome Plaza Apartments in Barcelona

I stayed at Feel at Home Plaza in September 2025 with three other guests. Unfortunately, our experience was affected by multiple issues that disrupted our rest and overall trip.

Night 1 & 2 – Severe ceiling leakage:
Water leaked heavily through the bathroom ceiling light, causing flooding and a potential electrical hazard. On the first night, we were only able to sleep around 4:30–5:00 a.m. after someone came to check. On the second night, it happened again, and we had to clean the water ourselves and shower without light.

Night 3 – No hot water:
Only the first two people could shower with hot water. The rest of us had to shower with freezing cold water, and one person became unwell. We were told to “wait one hour”, but the hot water never returned. We ended up boiling water just to manage basic hygiene and went to sleep around 3:00 a.m.

Hotel communication:
The staff were polite in messages but did not offer a room change or an effective solution, so we had to manage everything ourselves. This affected our health, rest, and travel schedule.

Compensation process:
The hotel initially offered a 20% refund for two nights as a goodwill gesture, which I accepted—not for the monetary value, but because it acknowledged the inconvenience we experienced.

However, after I posted an honest review describing our experience, the hotel informed me that they would no longer proceed with the refund unless I changed or softened my review. I found this disappointing, as I believe guests should be able to share truthful feedback without conditions.

Big room near metro station but very expensive and dirty. No cleaning service not even enough towels and toilet paper. You can only see the room after you pay it. Warm water in the shower takes forever to show up. Generally speaking not feeling at home at all. You just feel being used. Forgot to mention that during the whole night numerous drunk people party out ot of your room. More like a hostel rather than a hotel.

The apartment is not too bad, the shower head in our apartment needs replacing. The worst part for us was that noise, it was difficult to get a good night's sleep.
