Sleep Green - Certified Eco Youth Hostel in Barcelona

Location is great, very clean and kitchen is very well equipped. Good value for money, but there's no where to hang out and meet people apart from the kitchen and it is definetly NOT a youth hostel. So wouldn't recommend for solo travellers. Majority of the employees are very friendly and helpful but the main issue was the employee who worked on Thursday night. My phone and some other belongings were stolen when i was out, so I came back to the hostel to find the nearest police station. He was absolutely no help and just sat there with a very uncomforting expression, reluctantly allowing me to use the phone once or twice to call the police. Only after 2 hours of unsuccessful searching did he happen to mention the 24hr police station 20 minutes walk away... i really love the whole sustainable tourism thing and feel bad giving this hostel a poor review but im shocked that someone with such little regard and empathy has a position in the customer service industry..

Be very careful with this booking. I made a reservation at this hotel through *********** with free cancellation and no prepayment. When you search, it's the first option that comes up, but then you choose the room and that's where they pull a fast one on you. They charge you immediately and don't refund you for anything. That's their policy, they say.
