Terra Dominicata - Hotel & Winery in Tarragona

We stayed at Terra Dominicata for 4 nights and can’t wait to return. It was a wonderful few days of delicious food, wine and relaxation. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The service from reception and the restaurant was generally excellent and we enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners every day. We also enjoyed a wine tasting, a massage, and lounging by the pool. For a hotel of this quality/price, our only gripe was the hot drink experience at breakfast. Given the delicious food available (including freshly cooked egg dishes to order) and the attentive service offered, it was rather disappointing to have to queue with other guests at a generic coffee machine to make a basic coffee or obtain hot water for tea. The breakfast experience would be much improved by offering a proper hot drink service.

Exceptional location in a beautiful property with top notch, friendly service. We especially enjoyed wine selections and pairings at dinner. We will return!

Terra Dominicata is a beautiful boutique property. The staff and service are excellent. Its spa/massage area is a bit modest, and they could provide a more modified lunch menu offering.

We spent two nights here having seen the amazing views in the hotel website. The hotel is incredible in every respect and very relaxing. The landscape views from the hotel, and along the winding road to reach it, are spectacular. We did not explore the area much as we are not hikers and the Scala Dei monastery was not open when we drove by it. However, we did do the hotel wine tasting which was very informative and enjoyable. The swimming pool looked lovely but the water was too cold to swim while we were there. With the winding roads and lack of other dining options nearby, we ate all our meals at the hotel. Fortunately, the breakfast and dinner at the hotel were outstanding in terms of service and tasty foods. The breakfast buffet was especially good. We had a room near the lobby, which we had requested due to accessibility issues. It was very quiet and comfortable. We were impressed by the care and artistic nature of the decorations as well as the size of the room and bathroom. Overall, we had a wonderful time and were very impressed by the hotel and its wonderful staff, who were all very professional and welcoming.

This hotel is beautifully thought out . Our room was calm and spacious. The communal areas are so relaxing . We had some lovely meals and the staff particularly the waiters are friendly and helpful . I didn’t enjoy one of my starters and the waiter offered to change it though there was nothing wrong with ( just I now know I don’t like tuna belly !) When you arrive they make it clear that they try to discourage use of electronic gadgets but I think they should actually ban them from the communal areas as there are some people who are so loud as they talk “importantly “ into their phones or as they FaceTime family with no regard for those around .

My husband, my mom, and I stayed here for just one night driving back from The Pyrenees to Barcelona, as it is only about 1.5 hours from Barcelona. We were absolutely blown away. This is an old monastery turned winery, and the place is such a wonderful blend of character and modern. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. The pool was lovely with great views. The staff was friendly, and the food and wines were great. The only thing I will say is that the drive in is VERY winding, but once you get there, it is so worth it!

We enjoyed how Terra Dominicata is in a scenic spot in the heart of Priorat, close to many wineries and with easy access to beautiful hikes/walks. We walked from the hotel to the monastery and Cellar Escaladei, and it was lovely. Our room was very comfortable, and we enjoyed the breakfast buffet and spa area, as well as the wine tasting on-site. However, there are a few areas of critique, considering the 3 Michelin Key rating. Firstly, the pool is not heated, and there is no fitness center onsite, so it’s hard to truly consider this a “wellness” hotel. There are also no tvs in the room, but they do offer iPads upon request to make up for this. Finally, the restaurant food could have been better and became repetitive for a three night stay. The hotel was able to arrange a taxi for us to dine off-site, which was great. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
