Hotel Olympus Palace in Salou

While the hotel is well located in a tourist area, I was disappointed by the attitude of some staff members, including the manager. As someone for whom Spanish is not a first language, I would have appreciated more patience and courtesy. Good customer service and basic respect are universal, regardless of the language a guest speaks. For a property that presents itself as 4-star—and considering the high cost of a full-board stay for a week—this experience was very disappointing. If you are not fluent in Spanish, I would not recommend this hotel.

We have booked a 5 days family holiday at Hotel Olympus Palace and decided to pick a more expensive option on the agency website in order to get a better and bigger room as we were 2 adults and 1 child.
We arrived in the evening and our first impression was terrible due to the poor and inappropriate behaviour of the receptionist (Diana).
She was visibly bothered that we arrived after the regular check-in time (we arrived at 22:00 but we've notified the hotel weeks in advance about our late arrival). She was very rude rolling her eyes and barely giving any information.
We DID NOT get the room we paid for, the one we got was significantly smaller and not looking at all like the one on the website.
On top of that the room has not been cleaned properly, the bathroom was very dirty with lots of hair left around, the floor also dirty and the worst of all the toilet was disgusting, literally brown from the dirt...
I took these photographs and went back to the reception just to get another big shock...
The receptionist (Diana) after rolling her eyes again 🙄 when seeing the photos and after telling her about the condition our room was "prepared", she couldn't care less and told me I qoute: " You are only staying for 5 days".
😳 I couldn't believe what I've just heard...
She was the rudest receptionist I've ever seen!!!
And she never even offered to call someone to have the bathroom cleaned that night or try to resolve this issue in any way...
She completely ignored the issue like it was something normal...🤦🏻‍♂️
I asked if there was another room available to move in and she said no, they are all booked...
So I asked her ok that means we will have to clean that bathroom ourselves if we want to use it right?
She couldn't care less... 🤦🏻‍♂️
Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. If I was the manager of that hotel I wouldn't keep that lady working there for another day!!!
I've worked myself in hotels and the hospitality industry for many years and I know very well how things should be!
You absolutely CANNOT treat a customer like that!

Other than that, the restaurant was actually very clean and the staff friendly and welcoming.
The food was very good and tasty, and always fresh with good variety for anyone's taste.
I am being very honest leaving this review and really hope the management will take it into consideration.
I am not trying to paint a bad image of the hotel in general, but I'm trying to point out the unacceptable issues!
I understand this might have been a particular situation and it might not be the case of other guests, but the fact that we only stayed for 5 days does not mean we should be treated differently...
Honestly we could not recommend this hotel to other people despite its excellent location...
