Overall it was good….excellent food, lovely room, excellent service.
The downside was as it wasn’t very sunny there wasn’t a lot to do in the hotel itself during the day.
The single jacuzzi was always full and the indoor pool was freezing!
Also although the gym had a couple of nice machines there were very few (nothing for triceps or biceps) and no free weights.
I probably would go for a more adult oriented hotel in Salou next time but if these things don’t matter to you I would definitely recommend staying here!

Good hotel with decent amenities and a convenient location. It's just a short walk to both the beach and nearby shops, which was great. Everything was very clean, though some areas showed signs of wear. The rooms had been updated, though ours was quite small—there wasn't any space to leave a suitcase open. Breakfast was the only meal included in our booking, but it was varied and tasty. The chef prepared omelettes to order, and there were also two pre-made options available. There was a good selection of fresh fruit as well. Parking availability was another bonus. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.
A particularly thoughtful touch was how the hotel acknowledged the birthdays of two people in our group, without us mentioning it. A small gesture, but it made a big impression.

Would highly recommend this hotel 100%,.This was our 1st time visiting Salou, and absolutely loved my holiday with my 2 children, the rooms were outstanding, they were very clean, they were cleaned daily, food was lovely spoilt for choice. Outdoor pools were cleaned all the time, indoor pool too and they even have a Spa & Beauty at reasonable prices. 5minute walk to the beach and shops. All staff including the cleaners were so friendly with my 2, always had a smile and always greeted us whenever we were seen.There were 3 main receptionists that really looked after us throughout our stay Jose angel, Rim & big shout out to the lovely Paula absolutely amazing girl. THANK YOU!

Recently returned back from a week’s stay here with my family.
The hotel itself is lovely everything is clean, fresh and modern.
Our room was very much the same, we had a family room so a double and a single which there was more than enough room for. However due to us having a cot for our toddler it was put between the beds which significantly made the room feel a lot smaller. The rooms were cleaned every day, the cleaners were all very pleasant and polite.
I cannot complain about the food at all ever sitting the food was fresh and warm with plenty of variety and the restaurant staff were excellent, especially the manager!
The staff over the whole hotel were excellent, always happy to help and very hard working.
Outside there’s 6 pools all of different size and depths, with plenty of room for sunbathing. The only issues we had were that with how nice inside there’s hotel is the pool areas let it down abit, imo they just need freshening up. Sunbathing wise if you want to be in the sun all day you have a move around otherwise half the day you’ll spend in the shade.
I would definitely stay here again without a shadow of a doubt it’s a great family hotel. Little tip for people visiting in August and September take plenty of big repellent.

in the room they don't have hair conditioner, body lotion and hand wash liquid.

We stayed here 27th September- 4th October 2025 after receiving a recommendation from a friend. It’s been a long time since we last visited Salou so we didn’t know the area at all with so much choice for accommodation we were delighted to be pointed in the right direction. The hotel itself is beautiful, rooms were immaculate with a nice size smart TV to chill out before dinner. We went half board, not sure what to expect regarding food (as I’ve found in other places the food was cold, or not properly cooked!) I was very impressed with the food quality for both breakfast and dinner, plenty of choice, and when the fresh trays were brought out it was piping hot, so it stayed warm for quite some time. Fresh salad and fruit on a daily basis, fresh omelettes cooked on the regular with meat/ fish cooked as and when needed. Local beer/ wine reasonably priced. Free water fountains poolside to refill your bottles. The only thing my party said was missing was the option to have a tea or coffee with their dessert, though plenty of tea and coffee available at breakfast. As other guests mentioned, bring bug repellent - you can’t see the bugs when you’re poolside but if you’re prone to being bitten they will feast on you. There’s a late checkout option for keeping your room up to 6pm but the hotel was so busy we unfortunately couldn’t avail of it but they do have a luggage room and complimentary showering facilities to accommodate that. If you’ve got a few young kids and flying home late I would advise to book another night if your budget allows. Would definitely stay again great hotel for all ages.

We visited this hotel earlier this year having never been to the Costa Dorado. Sadly, this was a disappointment. The four stars in Spain only relates to the facilities not to the quality of the hotel. The site is a complex split between hotels and aparthotels with 2 swimming pools and Spa etc. Our suspicions were raised when we spotted a Tui reservations desk in the foyer. Consequently we spent a week with approximately another 700 - 800 other people, many with children. Meals were served buffet style in a large dining room. Fortunately we had not booked full board so we were free to escape the frenzied feeding dash. Another plus was that the room we had booked (a superior room with access to a plunge pool on the roof) was far enough away not to hear the general noise of people etc being on the 7th Floor. But that was as good as it got. The food at breakfast and the twice we ate in the evening was plentiful but inconsistent e.g. cold yorkshire pudding with hot gravy or fresh grilled chicken with cold gravy a single vegetable choice (sweetcorn). My wife is a vegetarian so her choice was limited to the salad bar or a cardboard pizza. The staff were helpful to a point. When I asked for a bottle of water, it came opened, when I asked for a sealed one I was told the hotel only provides its own 'filtered' water. After a standoff with the hotel manager I managed to obtain bottled water for our room. My wife reported to two staff that children were playing in the lifts but was told to tell reception. Nothing was done. Basically if you want to spend a holiday in a busy railway station with a swimming pool then this hotel is it - a restful week away - not here.

I had a great stay at the Golden Port Salou. I had one of the privilege rooms with a terrace on the top floor with access to the mini pool to cool down. Breakfast was really good, with lots of choice, I had one day dinner at the hotel, good choice too, but would be good to add a few more vegetables for a side option. Evening entertainment was really mixed and most evenings really good. The reception staff was very helpful for restaurants in Salou too, especially big thanks to Rim at the front desk. The location was also really good, walking distance to the beach and restaurants and local buses.

Absolutely recommend to anyone.
The hotel was beautiful and generally well maintained. The rooms are fantastic, modern clean enough and the beds are comfortable. Only issue we had was a lot of dust above the led lighting board things in the wall and the shower silicon could have done with replacing. But the hotel resolved it instantly, we returned to a room that was absolutely immaculate (yes I’m probably being too fussy but in a clean freak)
