I have stayed at this place many times over the years and it has been in the past a pleasant experience. I booked again for three days last week and unusually received a text as I was checking in for my flight at London Gatwick asking for payment via a link and telling me that I would receive key codes. I didn't understand the message and travelled to A Coruna as normal. Upon arrival at the hotel, the door handle for the reception had been removed and instead there was an entry button system on the door. I couldn't enter the property, but thankfully a young spanish woman who was also a guest and spoke perfect English opened the entrance door for me. I discovered that the reception was closed and no-one was in attendance at the hotel. The young lady kindly called the owners who informed her that as I hadn't responded to their message that my booking had been cancelled by them and I no longer had a room. After sleeping on a bench overnight I managed to find another hotel the next day who were able to provide me with accommodation for the rest of my stay at a somewhat inflated price, however I was grateful to be off the streets. This is the most shocking abuse of travellers I have ever come across and would advise anybody not to go within an inch of this establishment!!!!!!!!

I have stayed at this property many times in the past and recently booked again expecting a normal pleasant stay. Unusually as I booked in for my flight at he airport I received an e-mail asking me to pay for the accommodation with a link and telling me that in return I would be provided with "key codes" to enter the property. I didn't understand the message and assumed that I would be able to deal with checking in when I arrived at the accommodation. On arrival I couldn't enter the property, however a young spanish woman (also a guest) who spoke perfect English telephoned the owners of the hotel after opening the reception door to ask what had happened to my booking. The owners informed her that they had cancelled the booking because I did not respond immediately to the messages and I lost my room and spent the night sleeping on one of the benches next to the beach until I could find alternative accommodation the next day. This is the most discraceful experience I have ever had and would recommend anyone to avoid this Hostil Hotel like the plague!

Great value
Easy to check in, clean room and bathroom with everything I needed, including a desk and high speed internet. I'd love to stay here again.

Facilities: Basic facilities, large bed, floor-to-ceiling windows with large windowsills, along the street.

Hygiene: The hygiene of hotels in Spain is very good. This one is relatively average.

Environment: It is the most central downtown area in the city, surrounded by many night bars.

Service: basically self-service, enter by code. If you have any problem, find the old man in the bar next door.

The location of the house is easy to find, not far from the train station, and the price is not expensive

The concierge was a bit miserable and was only just able to bring himself to give me a REFRESHER for my room code, which I had lost

The hotel is incredible well located, surrounded by wonderful places to eat. They even have a super-good restaurant that serve typical and regional food.
It is clean and the staff is super-friendly and helpful.
Next time in La Coruña I will stay there again.

The place is very good for the price, but there will be some small issues. The corner of our rooms wall is chipping paint and discoloured, and the bathroom door doesn’t latch or lock. Otherwise, everything was good, comfortable bed and all works great. Very easily accessible lights and the location of the building itself is very convenient for our needs.

There are things to improve that may cost money. I'm not getting into that. It's true that the prices are very cheap and you couldn't ask for more.

But there are things that are free and can turn around this business that has everything to succeed:

1) Know how to delegate, like in Lucio's house, the older man has to let the younger ones take the reins. His experience is necessary on the terrace with anecdotes and observing the clientele with the eyes of experience. (THAT MAN COULD TEACH US A MOUNTAIN OF KNOWLEDGE)
2) basic hospitality rules, pour drinks, ask customers if everything is okay, DO NOT PUT THE SECOND COURSES AT THE SAME TIME AS THE FIRST.
3) Smile+Education +smile+ smile (it's on our payroll...whether we have a good day or not)
4) If I bring a full plate I always come back with an empty one.
5) practice the welcome and farewell, both for the one who orders the lobster and for the one who orders a cut. (The coffee guy may return tomorrow for the lobster)
6) A spring so that the hostel door does not slam.
7) We have to try the food and observe every day if we go over the point of salt.....for example.

My apologies in advance because it is very easy to give an opinion about the bull from the sidelines. Surely the reality of the business on a day-to-day basis has a lot of information that I don't know.

Sincerely,

A normal person who will return next year to see that you are the best on the street

Hugs and strength

My respects

Great place to dive into Galician seafood. It is priced fairly well for the quality and their grilled calamari is absolutely fresh and amazing. Their Veira (scallop) gallician style is a must try as well. The service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant.
