Great hospitality - all three reception staff (different shifts), were great at welcoming, conversation and all were very helpful. Location is close to the park and to the centre. Rear facing bedroom had a fantastic view of the cathedral. Despite really hot weather (32c), the room was cool and had a great fan. Breakfast extra, but really good homemade bread with cold meats, cheese, fruit and cereals. We would stay again

Superb location close to all attractions and a superb restaurant next door. Comfy high end furnishings. Great character and vibe altogether. The breakfast is very basic though.

This hotel is a beautiful and charming boutique hotel located just on the edge of the old town in Santiago de Compostela. Rims are stunning and full of charm with exposed stone and tasteful decor. The bathroom was spacious and modern with a waterfall shower and a hairdryer was provided. For a small extra charge the hotel offers continental breakfast which included cereals, crusty bread, freshly squeezed orange juice, cheese, cold meat, fruit and cakes with tea and coffee available. The bread was delicious! To the rear of the hotel is a private garden and terrace with views of the cathedral. It has swing seats and picnic tables. We really enjoyed our time sitting in the garden in the Sun. Although there is no bar, drinks are available from a cooler. Apart from breakfast, the hotel does not provide meals but as you are on the doorstep of so many beautiful restaurants it really isn’t a problem. Staff at the hotel are pleasant and helpful. The only thing missing was tea/coffee making facilities, being from Northern Ireland we missed our wee cup of tea at bedtime 🙈. We loved this hotel!

After the Camino, all I needed was a hot shower and a soft bed.
But this small, cozy hotel exceeded my expectations.
It’s close to all the main spots, with a clean, comfortable room and a great bathroom — the tropical shower was amazing (if you’ve stayed in small hotels, you know how rare that is!).
The perfect final stop after the Camino.
And falling asleep to such an incredible view? Absolutely priceless.

This is a small but perfectly formed hotel, right in the heart of the city. Whilst there is no bar, it has everything a budget hotel can offer, including fantastic views of the Cathedral. I’m writing this short review from my stay last year, as I’m about to rebook the hotel this summer again.

We stayed 2 nights having completed our Camino. Unfortunately we didn't get a room with a cathedral view but our room was a good size with a good sized bathroom. There's no air conditioning but the room did have a fan. We had breakfast each morning which was ok but not the variety we experienced in other hotels. The best thing about the hotel is it's location. It is central to all areas we visited - cathedral, park, taxi rank, bars etc.

We stayed in the quadruple room, which was in fact two separate but interconnected rooms behind one front door (one double bed, two single beds pushed together) and ideal for a family with children. The hotel was simply furnished but with great character. Our rooms were out the back of the hotel and had an amazing view across to the cathedral, and we would stay again for the view alone. The beds were comfy, the bathroom with shower was large and clean with toiletries provided, and the room had a TV and small safe. There was some minor noise from other rooms, but this barely registered with us. Our room was next to the breakfast room, so sleeping in beyond breakfast service may have proved difficult had we not already been up. The optional breakfast (currently EUR5,50) was great value, with Galician cheese, ham, tarta de Santiago, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, coffee, toast and freshly squeezed orange juice. The hotel itself is a short walk to the centre, 20 mins walk to the train station and 8 mins walk from the airport bus (bus 6A at Praza Galicia; EUR1/person from airport). A few doors down there is a lovely modern bar/restaurant, which opens at 7.30pm and does reasonably priced food, making it ideal to eat at with children in tow. The hotel staff were on hand 7am-9pm and were really helpful, booking us a taxi for our departure the next day (taxi flat fee of EUR23 to airport) - with an apparent shortage of taxis in Santiago, this saved us a lot of problems. Hotel Pazos Alba was such a great find and we will always now choose to stay here in the future for the great value, location, character of the hotel and stunning views across to the cathedral.

Great place to stay, well equipped spacious room, often cleaned and an overall comfortable stay. Breakfast was a great value for money with a variety of Spanish food to eat including Galician cheese and ham, yogurt, tarta de Santiago, cereal, fresh orange juice and breads. Good location being minutes away from the main square, next to a great restaurant and tapas bar. Absolutely great view from the room looking onto the cathedral! Highly recommend staying here!

Great hotel. Stayed for 3 enjoyable nights, staff were friendly and cleaned our room each day. Breakfast is nice, however make sure to get it early for the most food. We ended up with an amazing view of the cathedral as well. Young female staff is friendly and helpful, as well as others.

Pros: Incredible view (if at back of hotel, see attached images)
Clean rooms, no bed bugs unlike other hotels.
Comfortable beds and good facilities in the bathroom.

Cons: Slow wifi (especially once everyone is in their rooms, it sometimes crashes.)
Noise, (but only when people were using the bathroom, I could hear people upstairs showering from my room.)

Overall, great hotel. A bit on the more pricey side, but worth it and great for perigrinos finishing their Camino. You won’t be disappointed!

The worst eating experience I’ve ever had in Spain. Bad service, the saltiest fresh oysters ever, had to send them back, the bread was stale until we requested fresh, the salad was tasteless, when asking for the manager or owner a waiter pretended to be him. They insisted we had to pay for the oysters we refused, paid for salad and left. Do not waste your money at this restaurant. They ought to be ashamed.
