Rosmead Place Sri Lanka in Colombo

We had a beautiful experience staying at the Rosmead hotel. The manager Mr Sanjeev was so welcoming and provided for our needs always with a smile. Also the breakfast there was tailored for us. The staff read about our dietary restrictions and made special arrangements for us. Special thanks to Mr. Norman for amazing service and food.
Hotel rooms are also very good and proximity to malls and food is very good.

Beautiful interior and layout, very instagrammable and a very convenient location to explore the city from.
Service was warm and friendly, the manager and his staff were very friendly and keen to help us and make our stay worthwhile, as well as fluent and conversation in their English.
A full daily breakfast was included in the stay - eggs, toast, fruit platter, juice and tea, very hearty and delicious. Bottled water was constantly supplied and we had more than enough with no need to buy water of our own, outside. Bathroom amenities provided were heavenly and we had no issues, and we were very pleased with the AC (which was a concern for us) as well. The bathroom was very well lit and very large and spacious, which made getting ready very enjoyable.

However, for all the positives, there was still issues that left much to be desired.
The general cleanliness of the room upon check in was not up to standard - bed sheets needed to be changed, and no bed making/room tidying up was offered. Fresh towels were only by request as well.
There was also an issue with ants that would be found on the floor - we understand due to the humid and rainy weather/season, this may have been overlooked not on purpose, however, given the "luxury" tag to this location, we were disappointed to see this, and to continue to see this over the duration of our stay.
The bathroom as well needed recaulking and a more thorough cleaning - nothing untoward, but definitely not to the standard of a "luxury" boutique hotel with such highly regarded reviews. Some power outlets in the room were not working, and we would have appreciated this being pointed out to us or it being indicated, rather than us having to test each one out individually.
We had also thought that the wifi would be easily accessible from our room, but it was not, which, with data easily available in Sri Lanka, was not a major issue, but it was something that was left to be desired considering the "luxury" tag.

Also please note that there is no elevator, and most rooms are located on the second and third floors, which is something we overlooked when we made our booking, but of course the service did help our luggages.

All-in-all, a very enjoyable, homely, beautiful stay, with some gripes that we hope to see amended so we can return for even better quality stays in the future.

Extraordinary comfy bed, kettle, tea, coffee, TV, big cupboard, separate bathroom with bathtub and products. Outside natural space for smokers. Very beautiful decoration everywhere in the hotel including inside the room, staff offered me a valuable support when needed. I was really able to relax there and they took great care of me. Center located, near Cinnamon Gardens.

Wonderful location, nicely tucked up. Very quiet and peaceful for a city hotel. Rooms are wonderfully decorated. Beautiful boutique hotel. Lovely furniture and art work. Sang, the hotel manager was very helpful and accomodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Rosmead Place is a real find in an excellent location for sightseeing or business. Rooms are well appointed & clean. The staff are super attentive & hospitable. Sanjeev will cater for all your concierge needs and genuinely happy to help. Other hotels in the group are equally good. I stayed at Kandy Thilanka too. Highly recommend.

The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous place at Rosmead Place, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms and high quality service. Also one of the best stays I’ve ever experienced. Located in the heart of colombo and homemade food they served was so delicious. Highly recommend to anyone.

A peaceful ambience in the middle of Colombo with exemplary customer service. Even though it was a short stay it was much enjoyed.

They did such a fantastic job when they built Rosmead Place by Thilanka. Cool Boutique Hotel in the heart of Colombo. Just steps from everything you want to see and do and surrounded by great places. I highly recommend this place.

I spent six days on this beautiful property and we enjoyed every second of it, the service was amazing as we were received by Sanjeewa (Manager) who helped and made us feel so welcomed! And thank you very much Jeff (Chairman of the business) who gave us complimentary dinner and lunch. Staff was really friendly and their service was amazing, Chef Norman's food is exceptional. Definitely will recommend the show to all of my friends and looking forward to visit you again! Pasi & Dina
