Fort Dew Guest House in Galle

Lovely Dutch colonial guest house. Perfect for walking in the old town. Hosts very helpful. Roof top restaurant and bar excellent.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this guest house. A small boutique family run place. They were so welcoming. Great location. Would stay here again.

The staff is very welcoming and has been attentive to our requests — they kindly kept our luggage until the afternoon after we missed our train.

The room is simple but spotlessly clean, with a large bed equipped with a mosquito net, some storage space for clothes, and a safe.

The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast is delicious, and it’s very convenient to enjoy it on the terrace with a view of the sea.

This guesthouse is well located within the fort, close to shops and amenities.

Excellent location close in the Fort close to the ramparts. Easy to walk and explore. Swimming by the Lighthouse about 5 minutes' walk away. Bed clean and comfortable. Hosts kind and accommodating. Food available but we were out and about and ate as we went. Interesting busy street by day but quiet all night after 9pm.

A beautiful old house. Though the building is very old but so well maintained that it seems a newly built house on old model. The interior is well decorated with old fashioned furniture but everything is sparkling like brand new. The entire house, rooms and bathroom are very clean. There is a beautiful decorated balcony with swing, chairs and tables, where you can sit and have a coffee with a view of the street in front. Nice restaurant on the top floor of the hotel. Breakfast is provided there. The breakfast has a fixed menu but there are various options to choose from.
If you wish to stay overnight in Galle, I would say it is better to stay inside the fort. The atmosphere of Galle Fort is completely different from any other city. But for those who prefer a very quiet and peaceful environment, the environment of the fort will not suit them and most of the hotels in the fort are in very crowded places, inside small alleys, in a slightly dark environment. Compared to that, this hotel is in a very empty environment. Big open space in front. Very close to the main gate of the fort. Street view from the balcony is nice. I liked it.

Great place staff very helpful sat at a great people watching spot rooms compact but all u need for a few days clean with nice balcony. Food available on the top floor ate there one night great vegetarian curry could not flat All in all a great place at a good price give it a try u will not be disappointed

Amazing place..rooms are clean ..very friendly stuff..they trying to everything to make your stay comfortable..upstairs great restaurant..good food and coffee, which is hard to find in Sri Lanka .. highly recommend.. You will not be disappointing

Bedste placering lige ved havet og det gamle fort. Nabo til buddhist temple. Friendly staff, breakfirst is served With the best view. Breakfirst choises are a bit simple: You choose between bread, muesli or fruit - but it is of High quality.

We ate in the restaurant and had a fantastic meal. My wife had the curry and said it was by far the best curry she’s had in Sri Lanka. My calamari was lovely too. Great view lovely staff fantastic food and all at a great price. Highly recommended. The owner even gave us some banana and bread to feed the monkeys so we could get some photos.
