The hotel is amazing! There is a swimming pool with unparalleled sunset views, and hermit crab children can be seen everywhere. The service staff are very nice, and their smiling faces at all times make people feel more friendly. The hotel is amazing! The room is big and tidy, the air conditioner is strong and the beds are very comfortable. Without prior requests, to our surprise, one more bed is arranged for the 3 of us. The experience could not have been any more perfect. The hotel is located in a beautiful natural beach setting surrounded by palm trees. The architecture and interior design is a mixture of modernism and Sri Lankan chic, every detail considered. One could spend days on the poolside loungers enjoying the vista. Rooms are fabulous and the place is perfectly maintained. Excellent food, too. There's a beach, but sea too choppy to swim, and behind, a main road. Short rides to Unawatanu or to Thalpe itself if you aren't happy to just relax in a great place.

I liked the pool and the sun loungers that doubled as beds. It was comfortable to swim in the pool and get some work done during the day. The room was a bit tired, but it had a sea view. The breakfast was overly salty (they didn't offer me an alternative). Overall, it was okay for a couple of nights.

Gorgeous little hotel nestled into the small town. The staff were all absolutely lovely, the hotel and rooms were all gorgeous, super clean, and comfortable. The room is clean and tidy, the balcony has an unbeatable view, and the ancient city is opposite. There is an infinity pool on the fourth floor, which is not big, but clean. Two very nice clean pool and sunbeds always available. The downside to this hotel is in my eyes they don't cater for UK citizens. Very good location, you can take a 10 min walk to the beach, but the hotel does not have blankets, so that's something you need to bring for youself if you need a blanket to sleep at night. They only provide a very thin bedsheet.

The hotel staff were friendly and approachable. Food from the hotel kitchen tasted good and was well priced. Rooms were clean and there was a pool just outside my room. It was possible to clearly hear people playing in the pool, or eating by the room, when I was in my room. This was not an issue for me bu if you need more privacy, I would recommend looking for a room further away from the pool.

Had a room on the top floor and it was amazing. Balcony over looked the beach. The room looked and felt clean. The cabanas on the beach were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We loved staying here and would come back here anytime.

It was a good stay. The room was comfortable and clean. However, there are a few things that need to be addressed. There are no plug points, except just 2, into which the bedside lamps were plugged in. No place to plug any computer or even a phone charger unless you have a multi socket adapter. Breakfast was good and generous.

Pool is on the rooftop and has a great view. the Beach is a long stretch and plenty of restaurants along the beach.

The hotel was booked out but the owner was able to find us a room with our own private bathroom. The bathroom was outdoors just around the corner from our bedroom. The AC unit was broken upon arrival, although it took awhile to fix, the owner took prompt action and was very kind to us. The experience started poor but better throughout our stay.

We were originally planning a couple's trip, so we chose this option. It turned out to be the perfect choice! Decent grounds and responsive staff. The hotel is nice from the outside, in the rooms there are ants running on the beds! The location is good - to the main road - 300-500 meters, to the sea 500 meters

Excellent! Came here with the kids instead of Kai ahangama and so glad we stayed local. Pool, service and food all excellent! Looks better than photos and great cocktails. Clean toilets and friendly staff. Think it’s 2000 for a bed or eat and get one free

Service and food was amazing. Rooms could have had shampoo, conditioner and maybe body soap. I stayed 5 nights and my room wasn’t cleaned once. The hotel was under construction with no notice prior. They have no pool but one is coming. No room service. Beautiful boutique style accommodation. Not 1000’s of people like a few properties along.

The hotel is in a great location on the beachfront, currently only about quarter of rooms available due to the others being upgraded, this has not been an issue with noise. I travel a lot (I've been to 100 plus countries and am fairly flexible) and I found this hotel disappointing compared to my expectations. The staff was friendly and it's right on the beach. Our room was nice and large and had a great shower and looked out to the beach however the main curtain over the front window didn't work and was down the entire we were there. I love Kingfisher hotel. The food is excellent & the staff are fabulous. I think they need to do the software upgrades to the TV,s as I was not able to watch Netflix with my own account.

A good villa if you're planning to stay near a small, clean beach. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the only drawback is the air conditioning, which blows directly on the beds.

The location has a perfect view of the city, and is in close proximity to Jungle Beach which has a great atmosphere and is a lovely cove with shallow waves to safely enjoy with your family. The atmosphere of the place itself is quiet and undisturbed. As it is far from the city, the air feels clean and rejuvenating. You are surrounded by visually appealing greenery with comfortable outdoor furniture...

The closest to you'll get to the wonderful Jungle Beach. Hosts were very welcoming and helpful, with TukTuks, doing our washing and getting the pool ready for our use. The garden is fantastic, as are the views out over the bay. Jungle Baech is a five minute walk away.

The Villa Baywatch is a very small hotel set in the most spectacular gardens. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and an ensuite with shower. They are equipped with tea & coffee making facilities and a fridge. The area is very quiet, a short walk to Jungle Beach and a tuktuk ride to Unawatatuna. There is also a small but essential swimming pool. The staff are lovely and the breakfast is excellent...

Excellent food and service. Lovely family holiday. We will definitely go back again soon.
