Nirvana Beach Boutique Hotel in Tangalle

I was bitten by a scorpion inside the room while I was sleeping!!!! The day after we found cockroaches even inside the bed and the day after we found ants!!! We tried to advise the owners but they only put a spray completely un useful. I have been in hospital for six days for the venom. I asked for a total refund and they refused. The hotel is dirty and old, with a strong smoke smell everywhere.

If you’re thinking about booking this hotel - it’s better to think twice (save your money and find some other place to stay).

We spend 3 nights there and it was totally bad experience. The one good thing there is the beach. Peaceful, no people, very stunning. Big waves, Impossible to swim, but for me it was ok, I wasn’t there for swimming.

What about the other things?
1) Terrible dirty floor, walls at the room. Mold on the whole shower and at the button of a toilet. And if you’re dreaming about nice lovely pool at your balcony like on the picture - forget. It was never cleaned, full of little leeches, insects, even cigarette butt. Not only water inside dirty, also walls of this pool. Be careful.
Food and kitchen stuff. First day we ordered a dinner at Nirvana restaurant. 2 hours of waiting and we get the worst fish curry and grilled prawns (it wasn’t fresh, probably frozen and super small size). Is was cold and very bad cooked. Straw from mango juice was reused (with a small hole on it) and juice tasted like onion and dirty rag (spit it out right away after trying). Kitchen girl always forgot what exact we ordered. Last day we’ve got breakfast just on time but it was poor plate of fruits and cold stale bread from yesterday’s breakfast.
The territory of the hotel and main pool looks abandoned, not cared for. the roof of the main building is leaking in the rain.

Be careful and don’t believe pictures and rave reviews

Someone must be making up these reviews, I’d recommend seeing this place before paying and visiting. I walked in and walked straight back out. Don’t do it, it’s like it’s been deserted. Really bad aesthetic and run down.
