Seagulls Beach & Garden Cabanas in Tangalle

We had a good time at sea gulls. The
Cabana and the garden both were huge and beautiful. The bathroom had hot water. The family who owns the place was very friendly and they take very good care of everything and their guests. Their 8
year old daughter played with our 3 year old daughter and even gave her presents, which was very sweet and will stay in our memories forever.

The beach is only a 2-3 minute walk away and some good restaurants are reachable also quickly by feet.

The owner also helped us to rent a scooter, which was very helpful.

Location, Location, Location!!!! What an experience staying in the beach cabana with the waves lulling you to sleep-absolutely heaven! This place is just incredible! The staff were super helpful & big shout out to Taranga, Nimesh in the hotel & Charid in the restaurant for your efficient service. The breakfast was delicious, as were the meals in the restaurant & pool bar….really enjoyed winding down in the pool bar with an Arrack Shower & Gimlets during happy hour! And you have to try the blue frozen margaritas - great bartenders. The sunsets are truly stunning, some of the best we seen whilst on our 3 week trip - sitting out with a glass of vino to take it all in.The cabana doesn’t have air con, but we got an extra fan as my fella can’t handle anything over 25 degrees ;) Going out on the kayaks was great craic, with plenty of wildlife to see. And you cannot leave without getting an Ayurvedic massage (so cheap too!) - we had a 60 mins couples massage that was out of this world - huge thanks again to our masseuses Dinusha & Piyumi. Easy to pop into Tangalle town on a tuk tuk to do some shopping too! Just perfection all round!

It was our last destination and we were happy to end our trip there. The resort’s location os the best in Tangalle. Walking distance to the city and the best restaurants on both sides. Wild beach that looks like from postcards but no Photoshop needed. The personel is lovely. Nimesh and Avishka were very helpful. We had to stay a few nights more due to flight cancellation and they gave us a good price for the room. We were also upgraded. We liked breakfast very much. The swimming pool and long chairs area was amazing. A paradise if you are with children.

Everything was amazing. The staff were all very kind and helpful, especially Nimesh. We had an amazing stay and definitely will come back one day. I loved the natural vibes and the many hamocks at the beach. The facilities were well kept and they even had a beautiful yoga shala. They also provide kayaks which you can use at any time for free. The breakfast was great, always with a beautiful view of the ocean. The beach was never too crowded and the pool was a welcoming refreshment. They also have a pooltable which you can also use for free. Couldn't recommend this beautiful place more. Stutiyi!!

Room - We stayed in a cabana with balcony - room was good size and had air con and mosquito net and bed was v comfy however the rest was very basic, but with the beautiful surroundings you’re not there to sit in the room all day! There’s nowhere to hang clothes as such but we were only there two nights so not a problem for us. No fridge which would be a bonus. Also think it would be a good idea to have a bowl of water at steps into cabana to limit the amount of sand u bring into room. Hotel - We arrived early morning (830am) straight from airport and long flight and staff could not do enough for us. We were happy to sit by the pool until our room was ready and they offered us breakfast etc too which was welcome! They were always friendly, their service was excellent! There was a fish BBQ in the restaurant the night we arrived so we opted for that and it was delicious and very good value! Breakfast was also good, small buffet and also cooked to order omelettes or pancakes available. Buffet consisted of fresh fruit, bread, jam, touchier and traditional Sri Lankan fare - all v v tasty! Location - ideal if you’re after a tranquil stay! Peaceful and on the most beautiful beach - as others have said you can’t swim in the sea here but with the pool available at hotel that’s not really a problem. About 15 mins walk to the main hub of restaurants etc with some on the way. As we were only there 2 nights we only ate out once. Overall ideal if u want a quiet, relaxing stay with beautiful views!

Perfect place to enjoy the area ( mangrove / beach ) ! A little heaven very peacefull and the family was so kind with us ! Thanks very much to them!

We stayed 5 nights in the double room with balcony and ocean view. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful and the sunbeds and hammocks in the beach just lovely, such lovely ocean views, a beach paradise! The pool area is lovely too and it was nice to plunge into pool after sunbathing, as the sea was too rough for swimming. The room was quite small and basic but functional; the bed was comfy and the ac worked well. The water pressure in shower was quite poor, and hand towels would have been nice. The location is bit remote in the end of the road, but then again this causes the place to be really peaceful and quiet, no crowds anywhere and the long beach feels your own :). About 15 minutes walk takes you to area with loads of beach bars and restaurants and tuk tuks are readily available for longer journeys in the area. Staff was really friendly and the hotel restaurant had good food with many options.

Came back for the second time in 14 years. And even if it's built and expanded since the first time I went in 2010, Ganesh Garden Beach Cabanas is still the best place to stay on Marakolliya Beach, the most gorgeous stretch of sand in Tangalle, if not the entire South Coast.

We had a very relaxing stay at Ganesh gardens, the location is wonderful - right on the beach with a great pool and swim up bar. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Be mindful that this is 2-star accommodation so not luxury by any stretch. Rooms could be cleaner, bottled water isn't complimentary and not all rooms have Mosquito net.
