Eva Lanka Hotel in Tangalle

Lovely location, we had a smashing room, loved the beach, staff friendly and helpful. Pools lovely. Downside was the food was poor - breakfast okay but dinner really disappointing. Would recommend eating outside the hotel. There is a great local cafe on the beach - food lovely. Eat there instead of hotel

I truly cannot put into words how wonderful our stay at Eva Lanka was. This place is incredibly special, and the family who runs it makes it even more so. The rooms are large and spacious; we stayed in an upper-floor room with a beautiful, expansive terrace where we could admire the sea and listen to the many birds that inhabit the area. The pools are lovely, and the beach is simply fantastic: most of the time, we had it all to ourselves. What I appreciated most about Eva Lanka is that even when the hotel was full, with many families staying there, it never felt crowded. There was no noise, no disturbance, just peace and tranquility (apart from the delightful peacocks and their enchanting calls). I cannot wait to come back. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful owners and the entire team, who made us feel truly at home and part of their family. ps. make sure to stop by the little shop inside the hotel. Francesca creates beautiful pieces together with local seamstresses and artisans, and you’ll find thoughtfully made items that truly support the local community. Everything is locally produced, with a unique twist: authentic, meaningful souvenirs, not the usual tourist trinkets made elsewhere.

This place is a true Gem. The pictures don’t due it justice, it’s so beautifully located on a hill overlooking the pools and the ocean. The rooms and venue are super tidy and well maintained but the best part is the amazing staff, of which everyone greets you with a smile and makes you feel like family. We did yoga and massages and can recommend those too. We saw people from all around the world, families, solo travellers, yoga enthusiasts, all enjoying themselves here. The breakfast and meals are super good, but if you are looking for variety, there’s an excellent beach bar right down at the beach, and Tangalle and Hiriketya are just a short tuktuk drive away. We will recommend this place to all our family and friends and hope to return someday. 10+/10 experience!

We stayed two nights in this fantastic resort. It is beautiful, has two very nice swimming pools and a fantastic beautiful beach. On the beach there is also a cozy restaurant where you can have a drink/eat. The breakfast is delicious. We enjoyed it and would stay there again next time. It is also very close to the beautiful Goyambokka beach which is also highly recommended to visit. If you go right after breakfast you will have that beach to yourself.

Highly recommend as a beautiful peaceful retreat! I stayed here for three days with my friend and it was very safe, clean, and the grounds are surrounded by nature and very well kept. The beach was amazing. I left feeling very calm and relaxed. The staff were amazing and really went the extra mile for us. The food was also delicious and the hotel was great value. 5 star review!

We spent 2 weeks here; the purpose was to relax and watch/photograph wildlife. The hotel is really nice, we stayed in a spacious sea view chalet and enjoyed plenty of wildlife in and around the resort grounds. The location is perfect for day trips and we visited Yala, Bundala & Udawalawe national parks, Kalametiya wetlands and a boat trip from Mirissa. The Hotel team is really nice and very helpful; all our arrangements were made with them. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic family stay at EvaLanka Hotel near Tangalle! The accommodation was excellent—clean and comfortable, with fresh towels provided daily. The staff was incredibly friendly and always available to help, offering 24/7 support. The on-site massage was a great experience, and the swimming pools, filled with seawater, were cleaned daily. We also noticed a big improvement in the breakfast compared to last year—much better quality and variety. One of the best things about this hotel is its stunning, expansive green territory, which is beautifully maintained. We loved spotting parrots, monkeys, peacocks, and other local wildlife around the property. And the almost-private beach right in front of the hotel made our stay even more special. A couple of things to keep in mind: while the hotel is generally accessible, the property is on a hill, which might create some limitations for guests with reduced mobility. Also, the internet quality has improved compared to last year but still has room for improvement. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend EvaLanka for a relaxing getaway!

Wonderful place; fantastic garden, beautiful untouched beach, beautiful view from chartlet, friendly staff, great room service, great food, great pool facilities, great massage in Ayurveda center. Communication via Whatsapp with the reception was really handy. All in all a lovely 6 night stay! Thank you Eva Lanka!

An amazing get away. Surrounded with beautiful nature. So family friendly. I have a 1 year old boy and he enjoyed it. Every staff loves kids. Loved the room we got. The hotel staffs are great. They are really committed to their work. Dilum operations manager went beyond to make us comfortable. What ever we requested he did it for us. The front office executive Lakmali also always fulfilled my request. What ever I asked she did it immediately. The restaurant was incredible food. They cooked everything, even if it was not on menu they would accommodate your request and try to make it. Ajith restaurant supervisor and his team were amazing.

The hotel was spread out with several chalets and provided guests with one of the most spectacular views you will see in coastal Sr Lanka. This is not the most luxurious hotel in the country, but it deserves its 4-star rating. We thought it provided excellent value for money.
