Serenity Tissa in Tissamaharama

Hotel Located in Tissamaharama, Ancient City of Ruhuna Kingdom (160 BCE). My stay was pleasent and memorable. Facilities and Food were good

Perfect place to stay in Tissa- central but tucked out of the way off the main drag so nice and quiet. Everyone was so welcoming at the hotel and there was a lovely family vibe. Rooms were simple but clean and air con worked perfectly. Although we didn’t use the pool it looked very clean. Breakfast was a feast and just kept coming and coming- set us up perfectly for the day! Easy to walk to the lake and stupa. Would recommend!

I’ve been to several hotels in Sri Lanka but this hotel is by far the most service minded and keen of taking care of their guests I’ve ever been to here so far. Even though the AC system had some major issues and need maintenance (which was very unlucky and not the hotels fault) the owner let us cancel the last days (as we can’t sleep without it) and did literally everything in his power to help us picky tourists find a new solution that would suit our preferences. Again, this was of course a coincidence. But commitment and heart like this is really rare and I’d love to stay there again. Rooms were fresh, clean and location perfect as it’s just a little bit away from the crowded road. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great experience in Serenity Hotel in Tissa. They have a swimming pool to enjoy after the journey. Rooms are simple but comfortable. They organize the Yala Safari for us and the experience was really unforgettable. Very good guide that made his best to find as many animals as possible. Good English speaking. Thanks Serenity hotel for making our experience so easy.

Very nice clean hotel, very good location (central but quiet), very nice swimming pool, very good breakfast. Staff super friendly, helpful and flexible, Shanta prepared special lunch package for us (which was delicious). I can only recommend it!

This was an amazing hotel. Shawntha was a fantastic host. The hotel was super clean and if u needed something, he was there to help. Great pool great location for any of your safari needs. He will also book this for u. What ever u need. What a great place. Also breakfast was fantastic.

We stayed at Serenity Tissa for one night as part of our visit to Yala for a safari, and it exceeded all our expectations! We chose the hotel based on its appealing rooms and pool, and we were not disappointed. The pool is nestled in beautiful, tranquil surroundings, perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure. Our room was fantastic—spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with a lovely balcony, air conditioning, and complimentary soft drinks, making it a great place to relax. While the facilities were already top-notch, what really made our stay exceptional was the service from Shantha. He went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. We hadn’t booked our safari in advance, but Shantha took care of everything for us. Even with the short notice (we asked at 8pm!), he managed to arrange a private jeep for a 5am pickup. He even had a packed breakfast ready for us that morning! Our safari guide, Squirrel, was outstanding. His in-depth knowledge of the animals made the experience even more special. We saw an incredible variety of wildlife, including water buffalo, elephants, crocodiles, monkeys, mongoose, and spotted deer. After our safari, Shantha kindly allowed us to keep our room for a bit longer so we could freshen up. He also organised a trip to the holy city of Kataragama for us, arranging it through Tuk Tuk Rental Tissa at a great price. Our driver, Muthumala, was wonderful and gave us great directions to the temple once we reached Kataragama, and checking in on us to make sure we were safe and not lost. To top it off, Shantha also arranged a private taxi for our journey to Ella, securing us a better rate than we had been able to find ourselves. A huge thank you to Shantha and the team for making our stay so memorable. We can't recommend Serenity Tissa enough for anyone looking to visit the area!

It was perfect to stay and to rest in Tissa. I was here with my family... absolutely relaxed with the most friendliest stuff. Especially Shanta was very friendly and professionell... We ordered a dinner...it was greatful and very authentic with the typical taste of Sri Lanka. Thanks...it is a MUST to be here..... Ravi Karina and family from Germany

This hotel was perfect!! Great location, rooms very comfortable, pool superb, a gym, amazing breakfast and restaurant but most impressive was the staff! Shantha the Manager was so accommodating and provided the best service we have had. Could not recommend this hotel any higher with the service we were provided and the facilities. Enjoy!!!
