Laya Beach in Wadduwa

We used the restaurant in this hotel as we thought it had a real taste of Srilanka Food was really good also the service All staff were very helpful and friendly ... Could not do enough for us ... 🙏

Stayed with a bunch of cousins and had a super time :) Staff Ladies at the reception and restaurant were very friendly, helpful, and displayed an excellent customer service. Good location with a good view of the beach, comfortable rooms, and easy beach access. Enjoyed the tasty Sri Lankan food along with the western dishes. Will surely visit again :)

A true hidden gem – Laya Beach Resort, Wadduwa We arrived at Laya Beach Resort for a coffee and stayed for two weeks — that says it all. The food was exceptional, with Dubai-trained chefs and a brilliant team specialising in both Sri Lankan and international cuisine. We truly fell in love with Sri Lankan food here. Breakfast could be enjoyed on our balcony or from a generous buffet. A special thank you to ex-Chef Lasautha and his team, and to the wonderful Kusum, restaurant manager, whose warmth and attention to detail made every meal special — including arranging fresh coconuts to drink, hand-selected from the hotel grounds. The bar service was outstanding, with ice-cold drinks and genuinely friendly service. Huge thanks to Uditha Rathnayake and Pasidu, who even tried to teach us some Sri Lankan. Pool service was excellent and very reasonably priced. The pool was immaculate, with attentive staff who welcomed us with a smile every morning and reserved our sunbeds daily without us asking. The grounds are extensive, beautifully maintained, and the hotel backs directly onto a stunning beach with easy access and incredible sunsets. Our room was spacious and extremely comfortable, with a large bed, fresh linens, great hot water, a lovely balcony, and a comfortable seating area — perfect for working and relaxing. Reception and housekeeping were faultless, always smiling and helpful. We also highly recommend Rushi, the in-house travel guide, and the hotel drivers for stress-free, well-organised excursions. The resident musicians added so much atmosphere, and our final night was made unforgettable with a beautifully arranged five-course banquet — thank you to Manager Akrem, the chef and the entire team. For the level of care, attention to detail and exceptional freshly prepared food, this hotel is incredible value and truly deserves to be considered five-star. We cannot recommend Laya Beach Resort highly enough and cannot wait to return. 🌅

The room was clean and well-furnished, with extremely soft pillows. The mini bar was available, but we didn't make use of it. We took our own bottle and also purchased beer and stout from the bar. Excellent service from the reception, barman, and waitress - Dewmi. Very courteous and homely atmosphere. Every member of the staff was always ready to see to our needs and did it with great dedication. Special mention must be made of Kusum from the F&B who was of immense help to us and always ready for conversation, which made our stay even more pleasant.

We stayed at Laya Beach for two nights. We enjoyed our stay. It was pleasing to note that all staff worked with a smile. Very attentive and prompt. All room facilities were clean and functional. Restaurant service and meals were excellent. Thank you Kusum and staff for taking good care of us. Nice to see young people getting trained. Very good value for money. Nice and clean room with low noise air condition, nice bathroom. Fantastic breakfast outside with view at the see served by Mrs. Kusum the best service ever. In the evening I had a beer in the bar served by Uditha the best bartender in Laya. I will come back for sure!

We, the associates of Jetwing Colombo Seven, had our annual outing at Laya Beach, and it was a fantastic experience! This precious place offers a serene environment with well-maintained facilities, making it an ideal spot for staff get-togethers. The attentive and friendly staff ensured we had a smooth and enjoyable time. Beyond just being a great venue, it's heartening to know that our visit also contributed to the Army Welfare Fund, adding more value to our experience. A big appreciation to the Sri Lanka Army for maintaining such a wonderful facility, which not only benefits visitors but also helps uplift the tourism sector in Sri Lanka. We highly recommend Laya Beach for team outings and relaxing getaways!
