Great value for the money spent. The rooms are huge and the beach cannot be beat. If you walk out of the gates of the hotel, and head 5 minutes to the right, there is a small stand where you can buy water and snacks for a portion of the cost that Surfscape charges. There’s not a lot of food around, so my friend and I walked ten minutes down the beach to Waikiki Hotel for dinner on two different occasions.
A big thank you to the staff (both Prisca, Winnie, David and the Masai crew)! Friendly, welcoming and always available! Had amazing Swahili dinner with them. Hotel shares bar/restaurant/ pool with Coral Reef Resort (1 min away) Just a bit disappointed about the water sport options... Apart from kite surfing nothing else...😶
I left this room already after 3 days even if I had booked for 13 days. The room had smelled extremely like pee and there was no Terrasse with garden furniture which I booked. They promised me a change which after 3 days wasn t suddenly possible anymore. The bathroom is a nightmare absolutely unreasonable. After I asked to get my money back Marco the owner told me no sorry. Now I already instructed my lawyer to get back the money . I warmly recommend not to stay in this completely run-down room a NiGhtmare for 75 Dollar a Night !!!! In Addition the fridge, fan and kettle was broken and the mattresses full of stains and far too old. And a big minus too, there is no restaurant only the really bad and expensive one of the ocean reef next to Surfescape!!!!

The best kite surf center in Zanzibar!
Surfescape is the best surfhouse in Zanzibar hands down. The place is very chilled, personnel super friendly, room is spacious and cleaned every day.
The watersport has great instructors and the kite spot just amazing.
