I think the location puts some travelers off as it is out of town so need transportation.
Everything is priced like it's in Bangkok, and it's so isolated you have basically no choice once you are here.
Staff do not smile, like at all, everyone looks miserable.
Amenities include: spa (couldn't find it, probably in the under-construction section), gym (couldn't find it either), "minimart" (two fridges next to the bar), & mosquitoes (rejoice! There are many, free of charge, everywhere).
I kept walking around thinking that there must be some hidden secret level where all the good parts of the hotel are hidden. Eventually I gave up and just went to the pool.
There are lights strung up by the river side but nobody bothers turning them on at night, there is a cool looking bar by the river side that is sitting empty with nobody working at it either.
None of the signs are in English, if you can't read Thai you'll have no idea what any of them are pointing to.
