After a few weeks of visiting Thailand, we decided to stay for the last 4 nights of our honeymoon at the SKYVIEW Hotel in the Executive Suite SkyView. The stay would have been perfect if it wasn't for the way we were treated by the staff. We found this to be disrespectful.

On the first evening we ordered food and a bottle of champagne in the bar - everything was booked to the room, as is normally the case. The next morning we found an envelope with a letter telling us that the limit had been reached and that we should pay the amount right away. We were very surprised, as this is not a usual behaviour for a 5 star hotel. However, we didn't say anything the first time and paid the amount at the reception. The next day we ordered drinks by the pool (several bottles of wine and water) and we wanted to pay the amount directly. However, the staff here said that we could simply book it to the room and that it wouldn't be a problem. We did so. When we received another envelope with the same letter the next day, we complained to reception that this kind of behaviour was disrespectful and that they didn't trust their guests.

We are talking about bills of a ridiculous 15,000 baht and 8,000 baht. We paid 30,000 baht for 4 nights but you throw letters under our door for such ridiculous amounts? First you tell us that the amount can be booked to the room and then you throw letters under our door and ask us to pay directly?
Simply unbelievable and I have never seen this in any 5 star hotel anywhere in the world. I also travel a lot on business trips and in 5 star hotels and have never experienced anything like this.

Of course, we asked ourselves whether this is simply a policy (there is NO mention of this on the information sheet that you receive at check-in as well as no information at the bars while wanting to pay) or whether it is down to us or maybe our presence. We are from Germany, but we are a mixed race couple with me being a white Western European and my husband coming from Latin America and therefore having light brown skin. We’re also both tattooed. We also don't walk around in designer clothes or with Louis Vuitton bags. Perhaps this is the reason why we were not trusted to pay all outstanding amounts at check-out, as is normally the case everywhere else. This is unprofessional and disrespectful and we certainly did not feel welcome.

The pivotal point is not the amounts or that we should pay for it. It's not about money, we could also order 10 bottles of champagne and pay directly. The point is the behaviour and disrespectful treatment of us and the lack of trust and having no sense of hospitality and ruining the experience and our last honeymoon days. The front office staff did not care at all.

The 10% service charge imposed on us was also unacceptable. We ordered bottles of wine at the pool bar and my husband had to open the first bottle of wine because the lady working there couldn't manage it.
What do we pay a 10% service fee for? To open it ourselves and bring the drinks from the bar to the pool ourselves?

Furthermore, on the last day of our stay, the bathroom has not been cleaned. The toilet and the bathtub were not cleaned and the floor also had the same dirt as it was when we left the room - even though we left a good tip. The tissue box in the bathroom was also empty and not being replaced. Furthermore, we found men’s underwear in the corner of the bedroom, with lots of dust on it - from a previous guest.

What was positive though: the suite has a lot of space and the view is very nice. The housekeeping staff is very friendly, I can say the same about the breakfast staff (especially Kwan from breakfast, who is highly professional and cheerful with guests). The view from the pool is very nice.

However, the hotel itself is not at a 5 star level. More like a 4 star. The room also did not have a Smart TV, which is very unusual.

We will definitely not visit this hotel again and will look for another 5-star hotel on our next visit to Bangkok.

Beautiful hotel with amazing staff. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing! Also super close to the BTS so perfect to explore the city from here. Many restaurants around the area and close to the 2 very big shopping malls.

Amazing stay with a perfect location at Skyview Bangkok. Just a few steps (next to) EMDISTRICT huge shopping malls await. We stay in Skyview executive suite where it is very accommodating for a family of fours. The pool is nice with breathtaking bangkok skyline. Breakfast variety choice is good. Love it here

Perfect in every sense and terms!
This hotel is located in the centre of Bangkok providing sights and scenes that one must not miss.
The rooms are maintained nicely and attention to hygiene and cleaning is overseen by good housekeeping staff. Amenities are okay, nothing to boast about but if you carry your own then I guess that can be overlooked. Breakfast is good with nice seating arrangement, though I feel it sometimes looked congested.
Staff is good and trained nicely for the purpose.

We’ve stayed here twice now and the rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. The beds are so comfortable and a little hard to leave in the morning.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Always happy to help.

The roof top bar is pretty cool, the Bangkok night skyline is stunning.

The breakfast isn’t great here, so I would suggest heading out somewhere local or on your travels.

This is not a five star hotel experience, as the actual experience fails to live up to any normal standard. The front desk staff were unprofessional and untrained. My guest, who has a hearing impairment, couldn’t understand the receptionist, and instead of accommodating him, she yelled at him and making snide remarks in a language we couldn’t understand. To make matters worse, she expressed her irritation at us in a visibly unprofessional manner, adding to the overall discomfort.

The elevators are excruciatingly slow and cramped.

The room we were assigned was shocking. It reeked of stale cigarette smoke and urine. After just a few minutes inside, my hair reeked of smoke, which exerted my time on the phone with guest services to arrange for a room change and an hour of showering to smell…… presentable.
The water does not stay warm; it’s a game of Shower Russian roulette.
It’s also worth mentioning that, while you’re advised not to drink the tap water in Thailand, the hotel still charges for bottled water—a practice that feels both cheap and dishonest. I have stayed at other high end properties and they don’t charge for water and leave you with free snacks.

The televisions in the room are outdated, with a limited selection of channels and no screen mirroring option. These aren’t smart TVs which are a disappointment for anyone hoping to unwind with some streaming content.

At 8:30 AM, they began knocking on the door, attempting to enter the room while we were not appropriately dressed for company and still sleeping. For a hotel that purports to offer luxury, there is little respect for the guest.

The pool is so much smaller in person. Pictures do not reflect the actual state of the property.

There are pros to this hotel, however, all listed above has unfortunately overshadowed those. Location is good but don’t consider it when booking as the cons far outweigh it.

I treated myself to one night here whilst travelling and I was super disappointed after all the money spent on it! The room / bathroom was nice and spacious and bed was so comfy but unfortunately the air con wasn’t working so I was hot all night. The air con also leaked all night over my large rucksack. The good thing was they let me check out at 6 as compensation to dry my clothes. The pool area is super nice but can be a bit busy in the day. Food and drinks are great but slow service. All staff are absolutely lovely

Stayed in this hotel for 4 straight days during the business trip to Bangkok in mid of September, the hotel location was great and convenient (less than 5 min walking distance to skytrain and a 7-11 store right across the street). The hotel staff were all nice and friendly, and breakfast buffet were constantly changing and serving different dishes everyday.

The 24/7 gym was the best with big brand commercial grade fitness equipment also with clean towels and glass bottled water, plus showering rooms nearby. Everything was great for me except the bathroom in my room had some mouldy areas on the floors near door entrance. I would highly recommend this hotel for sure!

Location: The hotel's location was fantastic, right next to Emporium mall with convenient access to the BTS. There were plenty of massage parlors nearby, although some alleys might be a bit sketchy.
Rooms: The rooms were decent, but the carpentry appeared a bit dated and could use some updates.

Service: The staff provided excellent service throughout my stay, with no complaints.
Amenities: The pool was on the smaller side but served its purpose. The hotel breakfast varied daily and was sufficient, offering all the essentials. They were also accommodating, providing a baby cot upon request.

Overall: The hotel was a solid choice, offering a convenient location, good service, and basic amenities. While the rooms could benefit from some renovations, the overall experience was positive.
