Rapala Rock Wood Resort in Railay Beach

I really disliked the room; I just counted down the minutes until my stay at this hotel was over and I could finally leave. If there had been any other hotels available when I checked in, I wouldn't have even bothered to stay here.

The room felt like a tiny shack, with all the windows located below waist level, near the floor. Because the windows were so low and the building itself was situated slightly lower than others on the property, the view from my room's windows was absolutely awful! There were three windows, and from two of them, all I could see was a staircase next to overflowing trash cans. The third window offered a view of another building's foundation. On top of that, all the buildings are extremely close together, so when you're just sitting on your bed, you can see the legs and slippers of people walking by through the windows. To say it was disgusting is an understatement. I had to ask the administrator twice to remove the trash cans from outside my windows because they were taken away once, only to be put back the next day. Aside from the administrators, the hotel staff on the property were unfriendly. The room was infested with colonies of red ants. All the shower water would collect in a large puddle near the toilet and just sit there all day, and there were thick layers of dust in the shower area. The staff were constantly noisy, sweeping the hotel grounds around my room, yet they never once swept or cleared leaves from the porch right outside my door.

The hotel's pictures completely failed to show how poorly positioned the windows were. The room was small with nowhere to put my belongings, not even hangers. The pool was more like a kiddie pool. The price is unjustifiably high for such a room and doesn't match the room's quality. Overall, I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel and will never return.
