Reviews
From the moment I arrived, I was treated with hostility and disrespect. The woman at reception was extremely rude. After check-in, she demanded a 200 baht deposit for the key. When I said I only had a card, she grabbed my passport and stated she would keep it as a deposit. This is completely inappropriate and unprofessional — no guest should ever be asked to leave their passport.
The air conditioner in the room was barely functioning. When I asked for assistance, I received a dismissive and aggressive response: “wait 5 minutes, it will work better.” No real help was offered.
The situation escalated further in the morning. At exactly 11:00, this woman began aggressively knocking on my door, insisting I check out immediately. I had just woken up after a long and exhausting journey and was not informed that check-out was at 11:00 (which is earlier than standard). I politely requested to check out at 12:00 to pack and take a shower, but this was refused. After some pressure, I was reluctantly given until 11:30.
However, just 10 minutes later, the electricity in my room was deliberately cut off, making it impossible to even take a hot shower before leaving. To make matters worse, this woman stood outside watching me pack through the window, which felt invasive and extremely uncomfortable.
This level of service is completely unacceptable. The staff’s behavior was unprofessional, aggressive, and lacking any basic respect for guests.
I strongly advise others to avoid this hotel if you value your comfort, privacy, and respectful treatment.
1. The electricity kept going off, the rooms are dark and dingy, we couldn’t see anything or charge our phones. Also no hot water due to no electricity. Fridge in the room didn’t work. It was boiling hot in the room and the air conditioner clearly didn’t work well.
2. Staff are either rude or plain stupid. I asked to order a taxi to the walking street (a 2 minute drive) as it was pouring with rain, I was told that my taxi would arrive in 5 minutes, 15 minutes later when we asked the same Thai man with glasses on reception he acted surprised that we even wanted a taxi, even though 15 mins before I had a conversation with him and he said he’s ordering me a taxi! We almost missed our bus to Chiang mai and had to walk 10 minutes in a heavy rainstorm.
Basically, this place might be cheap but so not worth saving an extra few baht. Ruined the end of our stay in Pai.
Quiet at night, and everything is so clean and staff are all very friendly and always ready to help. (They can make up the room for you in daily basis:)
Totally worth it and will definitely stay here next time when I come back in Pai:)
The owner is just great and very helpful: I forgot my painting in our cottage and he sent it to me without asking for any charges! Thank you again for this great service!
Situated in a quiet side street right behind one of PAIs open air market and just 100 meters from the main public Hospital.
Generaly more visited by Chinese guest who appreciate this Northern Thailand/Myanmari architecture.
