Dar el Manara Djerba Hotel & Aparts in Houmt Souk

Don’t even think about it.
I wished if there was zero star because even one star is too much for such a dirty place and bad service.
We booked through a travel agency with a promo offer, when we reached there they claimed they don’t have rooms ( we are a group of 12 pp). After around two hours they gave us ugly rooms not well aerated, smelly with cockroaches around. After too much fights, they gave better rooms in the second floor but still it was not clean.

Ac starts working only after 9pm
Fridge is dirty and with moisture
Food is catastrophic, no variety in the buffet
No safety measures
No distance
Sanitizing gel is available only in the reception
It was so bad that I sent complain to the tourism authority الديوان الوطني للسياحة

Even a star, they do not deserve… I strongly advise against !!

We booked for 2pm, and we stayed at the front desk until 5pm because they didn't have a room. No apology was presented, no gesture was offered, knowing that lunch was included in our reservation and therefore skipped. We spent the rest of the day looking for where to eat. And we couldn't use the pool for the day, even though that day was paid for.

When we arrived in our rooms, two beds were missing, as well as the baby's bed. After several hours they bring us two beds, one of which is broken, and a mattress in a deplorable state (my back still hurts). Regarding the baby's bed, it never happened. No fridge, the air conditioner works every other time, the toilet is not flushing, and urine from the whole hotel comes back to our toilets. No blanket, after a few minutes they bring us bedspreads from the next room (I wonder if they were even clean).

But the ordeal is not over. My son was playing in the yard and he fell on a sharp rock that had nothing to do there. His skull split open (three stitches) and no action was offered by the hotel, nor even any help from elsewhere. A hotel error that has absolutely not been taken care of. The manager was in bad faith, very rude and without any humanity.

Regarding catering, it is worthy of a canteen or hospital food. But certainly not a four star hotel. We were told about an animation in the hotel, in reality there is only one club, nightclub atmosphere.

ONLY POSITIVE POINT I could tell you about is lifeguard Aymen: a very pleasant man, smiling and welcoming with all the families but also all the children. He took the time to talk to everyone and play with all the little ones.
