Reviews
We had not made a reservation and planned to book it there depending on what rate we got.
I was first mistaken by the security at the drop & go area as a taxi driver for my father. Due to this I was told to wait by the car instead of being allowed to go inside to check in. I overheard the security radioing in about me being a taxi driver, and after calling him back to say I’m not, he didn’t understand. I continued into the lobby on my own, but he walked with me as if he didn’t trust me or trust what I said.
Inside the man at the front desk gave us attitude when serving us and told us a rate for 1 night even though we asked him the rate for 2 nights. It was only once we got the invoice and were about to pay did we notice the total was double what he said.
He then gave my dad even more attitude when he told him about it.
While this was going on, I got called over by the security and 2 ladies who told me I need to move my car immediately from where it was parked to the designated parking spot (which I didn’t have a problem, but the hotel wasn’t busy - it was winter - and the car wasn’t in the way of anything/anyone). I asked what about my luggage and begrudgingly they said the security would do it. The security was very reluctant to help me with the luggage and just wanted me to move the car.
We never stayed there, and glad I didn’t, their service was absolutely horrible.
Stayed next door at the Djerba Holiday Beach Hotel, and had a much better experience with much more facilities.
The food was okay, but the service was terrible – the staff treated us as if we didn’t belong there, and when we left, they even took our wristbands and didn’t provide any meals despite our late departure. Overall, the staff was very unprofessional, and we would never return.
However, for a 5-star hotel, I was a little disappointed. There was a lack of professionalism in the restaurant; we were seated at a table that wasn't set or very clean.
The room hadn't been cleaned properly before our arrival: the mirror was dirty, the floor was dirty (we found a used contact lens on the floor), the sheets were stained and had grains of sand on them (?), etc. We requested additional cleaning, which wasn't done. The jacuzzi was dirty, and the steam room door leaked, so it didn't work properly.
Great food.
Our room was situated at the end of the block with sunset view.
Outdoor and indoor pool with jacuzzi. Good fitness center too.
Breakfast and dinner buffet is 👍
Not marking the hotel as 5 star not due to the staff but the decisions made by management as this hotel lacks a few things that would give it the top marks.
The all inclusive isn't truly all inclusive, I paid almost double to stay here instead of going back to the hotel I last stayed at in Port El Kantaoi and feel what on offer here is less for a much higher cost.
No hair dryer in the room, that should be automatic in my opinion. I didn't look for one until the one night I wanted to dry my hair, didn't bother in the end as did not want to have to call reception and then wait.
Room service is not included, I can't think of anywhere I have stayed where that is not included even if it is just a very basic offering.
Only water is supplied, for a hotel like this I would at very least expect water and soft drinks. In Mexico you get beer, wine and some places even had full sized spirit bottles in the rooms.
Not all bars or restaurants are included and the snack bar is very limited. Saying that I was certainly able to find enough to eat throughout my stay just a little underwhelmed at not being able to use all of the facilities as I would have expected. (Yes this was in the small print on the easyjet website which I only noticed after booking)
I
I did not love the pool area, gets too much shade with everyone opting up their umbrellas. I want to be able to get a tan and had to move 3 times during the day to find the next spot of sun. The beach area is better for full sun but I am not a fan of sand. There is a little seaweed but what do you expect from nature.
Thanks to all the staff, I think you're all wonderful and doing a great job.
