Hotel Iliade Djerba by Magic Hotels in Houmt Souk

Beautiful rooms and kind and helpful staff, they smile everyday bringing everyone joy :), the rooms are good but a bit unclean, the food there was butiful but when the staff cook omelettes in the morning sometimes it’s just not cooked good. But I had the 5 best days of my life thank you Djerba Aqua Resort!

On arriving you go through gate security, entering to the reception area, you met by helpful staff, wore the resort hand band for recognition, all in all a great experience, but for a small exception and, that is, there are two cats roaming in the buffet area, which is a minus if you have cats phobia.

I really liked the hotel. Although it's very large and crowded, I liked that—no one was intrusive with their service. The grounds are large, well-maintained, and have beautiful greenery. The beach is about 100 meters away, but it's a pleasant walk along a shaded path. The beach is nice. The food is excellent—varied, fresh, with fruit and ice cream. The pool is small and not very pretty, just a simple rectangle, perfect for those who enjoy lounging by the pool. But coming to Djerba and lounging by the pool is silly.

Our experience at this hotel was fantastic. The staff at reception were very accommodating and the chefs were top notch. The food selection was good. The bar staff fantastic. The animation were the highlight of our holiday…… Kareem, Mohamed, Ayub, Gigi, Emma, Tchitchou, Sisko, Momo, Alex and Karimelo…. These guys were tops and made every activity fun….. thanks for making our holiday one to remember.

I came for 1 week but wish I had booked for longer. I was given a room on the 2nd floor, which was hard for me due to health, after speaking with reception I was moved to a ground floor room the following morning, which was appreciated. The staff are lovely, from the cleaners to the Head Manager, and the animation team make you feel included and bring lots of fun and smiles. The food is amazing and each dish with ots own taste. The restaurant staff are attentive and also so friendly. The desserts are to die for and the ice cream is fab. Each evening there is an optional dress and I particularly loved the white dress night, where my friend and I were invited to a ceremony put on by management, and certificates were given to the people who had won certain games like bowls, beach volly ball. Such a warm and welcoming evening. The animation team also hold a day time beach foam party for everyone on the private beach, again so so much fun. I met many holiday makers who have returned to the Aqua Resort each year and say it feels like a family atmosphere. This was my first time in Djerba and at the Djerba Aqua Resort, I will definitely be coming back, and the tan I got in my 1 week is Amazing ( I do not tan easy ) Ive had a fantastic holiday ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Going home today after a lovely week at Djerba Aqua Resort. Stayed with my husband and 12 year old son. First off no sunbed wars, always plenty of beds in the morning. One pool was closed due to work being carried out but we recieved 2x free passes for all of us to the aqua park which is just towards the beach, we visited Thursday and Saturday to break the week up, just speak to the reception staff about this, there is also a smaller sea water pool at the back of the hotel. Food is lovely a mix of traditional and standard all inclusive meals, you can also have 1x visit per person to the Italian resturant, which we did book however changed our minds as it was a set menu with food we wouldn’t eat. Drinks, the cups are very small, the cocktails or slushys sometimes served in the same size cups you have a shot of coffee in, the drinks were a bit of a mixed bag for me and each one tasted different so didnt drink much alcohol the whole week. We visited Le bar near reception which drinks are chargable however where very nice and priced very well. All the hotel staff have been very friendly, the rooms are cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels, air con worked fine in our room. The hotel itself is quite big and spread out, we where on the second floor at the front of the hotel. The entertainment team work hard to get people involved but as a family we prefer our own space so we didnt try any of the activities. We did outside activities instead so we booked buggy rides with the man around the pool which was a great couple of hours, we visited flamingo island via priate ship but i pre booked this with get your guide. The beach is lovely crystal clear waters whilst we were there, had a camel ride and banana boat ride, haggle the prices though and you will get them down in price. There is a bar down the beach with toilets etc. Off site there is a shop which is a LOT cheaper than the onsite shops, if you come out of the hotel turn right and its about 5 mins up the road on your left. All in all we had a great stay, great hotel, great weather and great for the price we have paid in peak season. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

Summary: Excellent value for money and perfectly enjoyable experience all round from the staff, food/drinks options, location and activities at the hotel and to partake in on offer near by. Special mentions to Dhaou, Reception Desk staff and the whole animation team especially Fifi. Firstly the airport to the hotel was a speedy 40min coach trip away. I was speedily checked in as had around 20min of the dinner service left when I arrived at 8:30pm and was very hungry so really appreciated the thought and action by the hotel staff on this. My luggage was kept safe by the nice porter Dhaou and he brought my case and showed me to my room and how to control the heat/air on which I appreciated. Dhaou each day would go out of his way to help and just come and say hello and chat if we spotted each other and he wasn’t with other guests. The room was recently refurbished and much to my surprise had a King bed (2 singles together) and an additional single bed since I was a solo traveller and EasyJet had stated a single room with garden view on the booking. The shower pressure, hot water and all services in the room were very good. A small issue with ants but I just left them to do their own thing and they were not intrusive but is something that should be addressed and not expected in a 4 star hotel. Equally and to my surprise for the time of year there were a lot of mosquitoes and you could see what was left of a few that had been smashed against the wall. I was bitten and luckily had some bike cream and antihistamines, but the bite was very itchy not like experience in the UK. Didn’t report either to the reception and I won’t list my room number other than it was in the number 90s so you know the part of the hotel and but really it wasn’t that much of an issue, could happen anywhere. Most of the hotel was nice modern and well kept including the gardens and the pool areas in the Aqua resort hotel. They are in the process of renovating more rooms so there are some construction noise but I think as the hotel was not at capacity guests were kept as far away as possible from the noise and you couldn’t really hear it in the day by the pool either. The Caesar Hotel which is next door and part of the whole complex meaning you can use the facilities of both not sure about the evening or daytime food though
