Reviews
During my stay in the winter off-season, the lowest price was 200 TND per night, including two meals (breakfast and dinner), which was very good value. During peak tourist season, it would probably cost around 1000 TND. There is a city tax of 12 TND per night for tourists. Free parking is available. The rooms have bathtubs and sea-view balconies; every morning I woke up to see the sea changing colors depending on the weather.
The hotel restaurant is large. Having stayed for a week, I noticed they offered different main courses and themes every day. I tried sangria, couscous, lamb chops, beef, and sea bass—all delicious. The chocolate sauce and waffles at breakfast were exceptional! I haven't had anything like them anywhere else. Drinks at dinner are extra, but not expensive.
The swimming pool is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The water is warm, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the sky and date palm trees. The environment is very comfortable and clean, but there's no requirement to wear a swimming cap. There's also a ping-pong room, a sauna and massage room, a café with hookah facilities, a bar, and a nightclub. The staff are very professional, and there's security screening at the hotel to ensure guest safety.
We choose the full board option.
The bedroom was big with a balcony opening to the sea view/ so beautiful.
The staff was very nice and helpful.
The food was varied and really nice. The only things that can be improved was the desert (maybe because I am not fan of sponge cakes) and the juices were to diluted.
Because we went in November it was not too busy and so could properly relax not being closed to other people. The beach is really big and was empty. The water was not very warm but enough to swim.
This hotel is poorly maintained dated, the staff gaslight you whenever you mention a valid concern for example two different members of my family were checked into wrong room and were told that it was their own fault. The baggage handlers took 45 minutes to bring my luggage to my room. Check in is also extremely painful and slow it takes 4 incompetent rude members of staff to check you in.
Soft drinks are rationed throughout the day, the waiters are not properly trained and very few of them want to be there, on the other hand the staff behind the bar were generally professional but the same could not be said for the rest of the hotel staff.
The gym operates on an irregular schedule depending on which member of staff you see, the “trainer” stares you throughout your workout which makes all the gym users uncomfortable. She also opens and closes the gym whenever she feels like it also, never seen anything like it.
The entertainment is average at best, they do try. The communal areas are never cleaned or hoovered, there is no iron in the entire hotel which is abysmal for a 5*, it is necessary to bring your own iron or pay for a laundry service. The walls are in a need of a fresh coat of paint too, the same walls they rest food such as shrimp on during dinner, hygiene standards are as not what would expect in Europe.
The corridors are smoked filled with clear evidence the staff have being smoking indoors and the staff help themselves to dinner and lunches while you’re still dining, furthermore the power regularly cuts throughout the hotel and the room, they turn the lights off at the end of every session.
The hours for breakfast, lunch, dinner are extremely short.
Only stay here is you have very minimal expectations, looking for somewhere cheap affordable and don’t mind being gaslighted by poorly trained staff. This place is great for those of you with low expectations, I’m perplexed how this is an Iberostar, makes me question the other members of the group.
Most of the improvements do not require extra funding but properly trained staff who would like to be there.
1. Poor Hygiene and Facility Maintenance:
The physical state of the hotel is significantly outdated and poorly maintained. The corridor carpets were visibly dirty, and there was a persistent smell of smoke in the hallways. Most concerning was the discovery of cigarette butts in the staircases, as seen pictured. Our room was not thoroughly cleaned, and basic essentials—such as drinking water—were never replenished.
2. Unprofessional Staff and Service Failures:
The service culture here is non-existent. The staff were consistently rude, uninterested, and frequently engaged in "gaslighting" when valid concerns were raised. We were initially checked into the incorrect room and not one apology was given.
The hotel gym operates on an inconsistent schedule, closing in the middle of the day without any prior notice and staff will give you different times depending on who you ask.
Furthermore, it was highly unprofessional to see staff plating up food from the guest buffet for themselves while the service was still active.
3. Substandard Dining Experience:
The food quality was consistently low. Most dishes were oily and greasy, with a noticeable lack of fresh fruit or healthy options. The "Snack Bar" was simply repurposed leftover pizza from lunch. To make matters worse, basic soft drinks were rationed during lunch and dinner which is disappointing as an all inclusive.
The advertised dress code for meals was completely unenforced, leading to a very casual and unrefined atmosphere.
Final Verdict: Between the lack of cleanliness and the dismissive attitude of the staff, I cannot recommend this hotel. It is clear that cost-cutting and a lack of training have compromised the guest experience. I would advise prospective travelers to look elsewhere for better value and more professional service. Particularly one that actually lives up to its 5* rating.
A special thank you to Yassine, Jahwer, Sadek, Rim, Badreddini, and Hatem — they all went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable.
There are a few areas that could be improved. The rooms are a bit outdated and would benefit from updating. The hallways were quite dark in the evenings, and although the hotel is very spacious, it felt somewhat empty and could use more furnishings or décor. The phone in our room didn’t work initially, but it was fixed straight away, which we appreciated.
We also experienced an issue with the room not being cool enough and thought the air conditioning wasn’t working. Later, we realised the door needs to be fully shut for the AC to operate. However, when we raised the issue at reception, the staff member’s response felt dismissive and came across as rude, almost placing the blame on us. This could have been handled much more politely, as a simple and friendly explanation would have avoided any frustration.
Aside from that experience, most of the staff were genuinely kind and helpful, and overall we enjoyed our stay. With some updates and better communication in situations like this, the hotel could be even better.
