Paloma Family Club in Bitez

I am thoroughly disappointed with my stay, which was advertised as a 4-star hotel but delivered an experience closer to a 1-star motel. The room itself was incredibly small and felt very basic, lacking any of the amenities or comfort one would expect from a higher-rated establishment.

Upon arrival, the cleanliness was a major issue. The room felt dirty, and it was particularly off-putting to see a cleaning cart left directly outside, visible from the room – hardly the impression a '4-star' hotel should make. (See Image 2)

The bedroom was cramped with minimal space around the bed, and the decor, while attempting a modern look with the woven wall hangings, felt more like an afterthought. (See Image 1) The bathroom was equally small and basic, again failing to meet any 4-star expectations. (See Image 3)

We were hoping for some relaxation after the day long trip, which we will not get.

If you spend your time outside the room, e.g. at one of the bars, it is OK.

Teenager Chill Lounge at the back, pool with live dance entertainment at the front … it was relatively loud.

The blanket was super thin and too small for two people. We had to use the Towels as additional blankets as it was relatively cold at night. What a joke …

Overall, this hotel significantly underdelivers on its 4-star claim. The small, basic, and dirty conditions, coupled with the poor presentation, make it impossible to recommend. Save your money and look elsewhere.

Returned home from here a couple of weeks ago and sadly won’t be returning. First and foremost, this hotel is not a 4 star. I would give it a 3 at an ABSOLUTE push, so you could potentially enjoy a stay here if you keep a ~very~ open mind to expectations. This was a first family holiday with our young child and unfortunately will be one to remember for all the wrong reasons. This is supposedly a family friendly hotel but nights are incredibly noisy if you have a room situated around the pool and bar, where it can get pretty lively into the early hours while little ones are sleeping. We even had to witness a pretty serious fight/brawl which broke out one evening between other hotel guests. Obviously this is no fault of the hotel itself but didn’t exactly enhance the experience of our stay, and we were fortunate enough to have our own child asleep during this, which can’t be said about other guests and their young children. On to the accommodation.. I have always held the view that, while on holiday, a room is a room; you sleep there, use it as a base, but aren’t there a great deal of time and because of this have never minded one more on the basic end of the spectrum. However, this was nothing like I’d seen before. Wallpaper was rippling and almost peeling from the walls, the shower screen and surround was mouldy and faulty meaning the bathroom would flood with every wash (although I can give credit where it’s due, the water pressure was incredible). There were gaping holes in the walls from power supplies, not to mention broken door clasps, mirrors and lampshades hanging off. We had issues with losing our electrical supply two mornings in a row and a flush which stopped working for hours until fixed. Overall, cleanliness wasn’t great either and we felt the general grubbiness left us feeling that we were just never ‘clean’ for the entire week whilst there (even after the maids had been in). Pool area was another downside. The kids’ pool was always a little dirty, leaves and other debris sitting on the bottom a lot of the time. Not always easy to get a sun lounger either, so it was a good thing we’re more explorers and beach goers than pool-side-sitters. Most of the loungers were taken up by towels at first light reserving them all day but never used. We even noticed a few times that guests were using their belongings to bag the best loungers for days on end! Yes, that’s right, 2 days in a row we noticed a few loungers reserved night and day but never used, as a ‘just-in-case’ so nobody else could take them. Again, this isn’t a direct issue of the hotel but definitely something they could look in to and do something to avoid. I would ignore those complaining about food though, for the selection was pretty good. ((If anything, the á la carte restaurant would be the thing to avoid, worst meal all week. DO NOT BOOK!!!! - OR BOOK AT OWN RISK!! - Awful Hotel - not family friendly at all! - This should be advertised as an adult only if you don't want children and complain about children and want them to be quiet in a pool, especially children with disabilities such as autism and ADHD. - Food disgusting - unless you like toast then you will be safe the only thing that is edible in this hotel. - Management awful - so miserable never happy and never wants to resolve anything - he shouldn't be management if you cannot resolve issues - and want to intimidate people. - Dirty rooms - need to learn how to clean - the family rooms are a good size but that's the only positive thing I can say about this hotel but other than that need to learn how to clean them and remove black Mould the wood work. - No entertainment - felt like an old peoples retirement home in-fact I have had more fun in one of these than this place. - Smell - I mean I love animals but this hotel has loads of cats and 2 dogs which I have no issues with, but the smell of cat urine is disgusting and knocks you sick. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL- AND WOULD NEVER RETURN!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY - THERE ARE PLACES A LOT BETTER THAN THIS PLACE!!

Got back from a so called "holiday" with my family. Hotel staff weren't nice at all. Telling children to shut up in the "kids pool" and getting threatened to be kicked out because they were having fun! Horrendous experience. Food was under cooked and not suitable especially for young children. If you have a family avoid at all costs!!!!

Not family hotel at all, witnessed children getting told to shut up by a random women who had nothing to do with them, then that family got told to leave when it wasn't their fault , food was absolutely awful and stunk of cat urine everywhere. Old and run down room was dusty staff were rude and not helpful made people feel intimidated

The rooms was very big but dirty But the smells outside did not smell nice and I could have been sick of the smell of it because of the dogs and the cats peeing everywhere and some of the cats Try to follow us in to the rooms

The rooms were a good size this is probably the only positive I can say about this hotel! I am a travel agent in the UK and would never sell this property again, it's not a family property at all!! We have children with autism and ADHD so don't know how to accommodate any one with disabilities and don't like children being loud and telling them to shut up I have been to Turkey many times and a lot of Turkish people are amazing but the staff here don't accommodate anyone with disabilities I will never sell this property and I do not recommend this hotel. Bitez is a quiet area it should be adult only go to gumbert you will have a better time. Food is atrocious if you like toast then your all good! But other than that don't waste your money! Stay self catering as there is many shops and bars around at a reasonable price. Also it stinks of cat urine. This should be classed as an adult only property. If you don't want children and want them to be quiet.

The room were good size but I did find old guests belongings in there so it wasn't clean also my autistic child was told to shut up from guests and staff I would not recommend this hotel we got told we had to leave after one day they did not understand about my son's disability
