Kafdagi Konak Hotel in Rize

Spectacular hotel, it’s kind of that you’re riding on a time machine and you’re traveling between centuries to cultural time zones. The owners already live in there. It’s nice to get information about areas from them face to face. The Lady Chef also cooks delicious meals.

Quiet and Comfy Retreat
Great location in the hills which was quiet and serene overlooking the Black Sea. Food was also tasty.

Hilltop dream
This hotel is very quirky and unusual. Lots to see and very relaxed atmosphere and made to feel welcome. Food was very good and service was excellent. Sadly foggy so didn’t get to see the wonderful views. Would recommend.

Every thing perfect

A beautiful hotel. I arrived at night with no reservation and was warmly welcomed by the staff. The rooms were clean and cozy. A tasty breakfast was prepared by Surya (forgive any incorrect spelling). High-quality service that made me feel welcomed into Rize. I highly recommend this hotel!

We spent two days of our honeymoon there in September 2022, they were really unforgettable. ❤️❤️
I still wanna go there again in our anniversary.
Every detail was perfect, the atmosphere, the rooms, the food and the people themselves are very friendly.

What I liked:
- Location location location. Located in a rural village that is not far away from the city of Rize (15-20 minutes drive).

- Lots of touristic areas like the mountain of ayder (1.5 hours) or Uzungol Lake (around 1 hour) are within acceptable reach.

- Anyone with the intention to stay away from the city or touristic areas, this is the place to be. Fantastic views from almost mountain (or hill) top with beautiful nature surrounding the hotel. The view combination of green nature and the black sea was stunning. We had a room with a balcony and sea view.

- tea farms surrounding the hotel.

- the mainly wooden interior of the hotel had its charm.

- Lots of seating options outside.

- a good place to go for walks.

- Wishes (water, blankets etc) are instantly fulfilled.

- Beautiful restaurant in a separate building with gorgeous views, breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

- sweat cats outside

- friendly staff

- Parking is available in front of the hotel

Things to improve:

- Access is quite difficult with luggage

- staff is not always at reception desk, but I think that is part of the minimalist interference policy to enjoy the surrounding nature. That was rather a guess.

- staff members unfortunately speak only turkish and it was sometimes difficult to communicate but overall nothing to complain about their work or attitude.

- No drink water provided in the room, only upon request but then instantly provided.

- the road uphill to the hotel is bumpy, so for us it was slightly difficult as we had a rental car, especially after sunset. Nonetheless for someone coming with private transportation it's not relevant.

- for my wife bed was slightly uncomfortable but I think this is an individual impression

A unique place buolt in 2017 but it has the look and vibe of old Palace, the view and garden are stunning, the way to reach the otel is a bit long from the main road. Definitely recommend the place.
