DoubleTree by Hilton Trabzon in Trabzon

This hotel management seems to me desperately trying to milk customers. We had two rooms with kids they surcharged us for four kids separately. We had to pay everything in advance for three nights.
In addition they requested separate deposit for any room service. At the check out instead of deducting the room service from the deposit they requested us to pay it separately. It’s already a month they’re still not returning the hold, claiming that there is technical detail with the bank.

Our booking was cancelled 2 weeks before we arrived and we were not notified. The company we booked through (vio.com) had also not been told this and on their end the booking was still active. The reception staff were very dismissive and offered no explanation as to what had happened. Although we believe it may have had to do with a Turkish super lig football team staying in the hotel… We ended up staying somewhere else.

Unfortunately the worst experience ever. It’s not like a 5 stars hotel at all. I’ve stayed in all hilton properties around the world, but this was shocking.

First of all, I’ve booked my stay for 10 days in DoubleTree Trabzon and paid ahead the full amount. Once we arrived, we were shocked by the way they welcomed us. It looks like we attacked them in their house at late night. Everyone was mad and no one smiling at all. After that they gave us a smoking room in the smoking floor though we haven’t requested and we are non-smokers.

We refused to stay in that room as we have a 3 years kid. After that we were transferred to another room that lack all kind of amenities. We had to call them to request for each and every item. The shocking thing is that we weren’t allowed to bring any food from outside. This to force everyone to order from their restaurant.

I contacted their PR who tried to show that she is very helpful but in fact she does nothing. After I gave up on her she insisted to ask me to choose how can we make our stay better! I requested to have the breakfast in our room as I have a medical condition. (BTW, our reservation includes a breakfast) then she disappeared and does nothing not even saying a word.

In conclusion, please save your money and try other hotels that respect their guests on high quality standards.

The hotel was my worst experience in Trabzon.
