Reception staff Dogan is repeatedly praised for excellent customer service and helpfulness. Food quality is described by some as fresh, tasty, and well-prepared despite limited variety. The swimming pool area is generally noted as clean and sufficiently sized with available sun loungers. The hotel’s location is convenient, with a 5-minute walk to the beach and close proximity to shops and the old town. Numerous reports of poor room maintenance, including broken furniture, leaking ceilings, malfunctioning air conditioning, and incomplete housekeeping for up to a week. Guests complain about limited and often poor-quality food options, with some noting flies on uncovered buffet food. WiFi is weak or non-functional in rooms, only working sporadically in reception and pool areas. The hotel has no elevators and many stairs, which may be inconvenient for some guests. Staff English proficiency is limited, complicating communication for some visitors. Overcrowded pool and insufficient sunbed availability reported by multiple guests.

Description

Sunpoint Hotel Bodrum is a three-star property built in 2000, offering several room types including Family Room, Superior Room, and Superior Quadruple Room. The hotel provides standard amenities such as WiFi, parking, a restaurant, bar, and room service, alongside practical services like luggage storage, currency exchange, laundry, and ironing. Guest reviews reveal a mixed experience: some praise the friendly and helpful staff, especially reception staff Dogan, and the decent quality of food served. However, many guests report issues with room cleanliness and maintenance, noting outdated furnishings, broken fixtures, and inconsistent housekeeping service. The swimming pool is described as clean and adequately sized by some, but overcrowded by others. WiFi access is limited to common areas, and the hotel lacks elevators, with many steps leading to rooms. Overall, expect a budget-friendly stay with some service strengths but significant room for improvement in upkeep and guest comfort.

All I can say it is worth visit. Yes, it’s true that rooms are old and need to be repaired. Our room wasn’t cleaned for 7 days even though we hang a pendant. Now about the good things. Dogan from reception is a lovely guy who really cares about guests ❤️ All bartenders are nice, coffee and drinks are really good. I can’t complain about food, everything looked fresh and was tasty. I will remember my stay really good, we love turkish people, everyone is so nice❤️ the weather we had was awesome. Thanks to the whole service for a wonderful vibe ❤️ my advice is just to maybe train the room cleaning service and then there will be less bad opinions 🥰

Absolutely appalling place. You couldnt pay me to go back. I’d rather stay in a prison cell than the rooms. Old, smelly and falling apart. They should be ashamed taking peoples money. The food is even worse and covered in flys. The snack bar is laughable. Only serving food for 2 hours a day. Everyday one of the pots was plain pasta and the other one either left over wedges or pieces of mate. Not even a homeless person would eat it !! Absolutely ruined our holiday. Miserable staff and to be fair I’m not surprised having to work there. The swimming pool isn’t big enough for the amount of guests. The only positives were the pool area was clean and location to beach. Love holidays should be thoroughly ashamed selling this place to people

NOT GREAT First of not a great welcoming entrance or reception. On description of the booking it says private beach big lie then it states it’s a swim up bar hmm Nop. The rooms were not the best as the drawers were falling apart. There were no house keeping in the whole week we were there. Had to ask for toilet rolls and fresh towels. Zero entertainment as stated there was. Pool area was nice and clean. Breakfast well I didn’t have breakfast at all. Dinner for breakfast yuk. We ate out 3 times as there was nothing nice there. Nothing for kids. Drinks limited. Very disappointed but had lovely weather and spent lots of money. Also no lifts and lots of steps leading up to rooms.

Sunpoint Hotel is absolutely terrible – please avoid it at all costs. When we arrived, we were given a room that was filthy. The toilet ceiling was leaking, the shower didn’t work, the air conditioning was only available in one room, and the other had no AC or even a fan. The balcony door was broken, and so was the bathroom cubicle door. We immediately asked to change rooms, but were told the hotel was fully booked and promised a move the next day. The following day, after reminding them two or three times, we were finally given a different room – but it only had space for four people, while we were five (two adults and three children). We had to sleep on the floor and give the bed to our children. The new room was no better: almost everything was broken. After three days, they finally brought us an extra bed – which was also broken. The wardrobe, balcony door, and even the socket cover were all damaged, which is a serious health and safety hazard, especially with children. The food was poor, with very little variety, and was left uncovered with flies sitting on it. The staff did not speak any English, so we had to use Google Translate for everything. The pool was always overcrowded, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. This hotel is not even worthy of three stars – in fact, it doesn’t deserve any. More than the hotel itself, I blame Loveholidays for misleading us by listing this place and for refusing to offer compensation.

1 week stay, all inclusive. Good points: swimming pool was nice and the food was also ok. Some of the staff were also nice. (Not all, though!). Bad points: cleaning was awful. Our room was disgusting when we arrived (dirty floor, dust, wrappers, even an ear tip was on the floor). Furniture is quite dated and used up. Bathroom was also in quite a bad shape. Lack of care with cleaning was also visible outside, specially around and inside the pool. Food was not bad, but lacked variety and options. Not child food friendly at all. Snacks in the afternoon were boiled pasta and watermelon (yes, really). Drinks were very limited also and very basic. Note for the poor English skills of the staff. This hotel is due a serious renovation and a lot more care to cleaning. Ah, WiFi is also terrible and only in the common areas. Finally, the music around the pool was absurdly repetitive and too loud. It’s not horrible but I do not recommend it, also.

Please save your money and go elsewhere!!! The hotel is seriously badly run. Upon arrival we had to wait approximately 10 minutes for someone to turn up at the reception to check us in. The staff member there proceeded to take a series of calls before checking us in. We were then taken to a room with crumbling walls, broken fixtures and a bathroom where the ceiling was leaking heavily from above over the toilet! They moved us to another room however, there were only 2 available plug sockets for our family of 5. At no point did anyone ever come to change our sheets, provide new towels or bring new toilet rolls. We had to request towels and toilet rolls daily at the reception. The air conditioning unit is only in the main bedroom which leaves the rest of the room extremely hot! The food is really bad! The breakfast selection is a series of sandwich meats, sliced cheese and raw oats! Lunch and dinner seem to have the same options and these remain the same every day. I had to eat the same meals in each sitting which was very limiting as a vegetarian. I should note that the buffet style restaurant is never covered allowing for flies to freely land on the food! The all inclusive options for drinks also are non existent. Entertainment only happened on one evening and most likely because the country was celebrating victory day the following day. WiFi doesn’t work anywhere apart from the reception and that is limited and cuts out constantly. So much so that we all had to resort to buying expensive bundle packages to get online.

We booked this holiday for five people—two adults and three children. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were given a room for five, but the air conditioning was not working properly. The children’s room had no AC or fan, and the toilet ceiling was leaking. We reported these issues to the hotel staff, but they told us the hotel was fully booked. They promised to move us to a different room the following day. The next day, we were moved, but the new room was only suitable for four people. The staff said they had no larger rooms available. I raised this complaint with the LoveHolidays support team. For three nights, I had to sleep on the floor, and although the hotel eventually provided an extra bed, it was broken. The air conditioning situation was also unacceptable. One AC unit per apartment is not sufficient, especially as the room with three beds was unbearably hot, like a sauna. On top of this, the balcony door did not lock, which posed a serious safety risk. In addition, there was no working Wi-Fi anywhere in the hotel. There were also clear health, safety, and hygiene concerns: uncovered food with flies on it, and broken electrical switches. Overall, this was a deeply disappointing experience. The hotel did not match the description provided at the time of booking, and multiple issues ruined our holiday.
