Kocadon Hotel in Bodrum

My wife and I stayed at the Kocadon Museum Hotel for three nights at the beginning of a John Graham Tour of Anatoli, the ancient name for the southwestern coast of Turkiye, Our tour of historic Greek and Turkish islands and isolated coves from A 139' sailing Gulet offered an ideal means of visiting ancient isolated maritime sites. The Kocadon is a lovely small hotel situated 100 meters or so off Bodrum's main area of restaurants, music venues, shopping bazaar, and harbor marina filled with hundreds of beautiful sailing boats. An ancient Crusader castle is located there where it houses a world class archeological museum of Bronze Age, Greek, and Bysantine era ships that wrecked along the unforgiving Anatolia coast over thousands of years. Bodrum is the crown jewel of Turkiye's lovely Turquoise Coast and the Kacadon Museum Hotel offers a warm and inviting location from which to enjoy it.

This hotel was charming-each room was painted a different color scheme and the halls courtyard had many artifacts. The rooms were very comfortable, roomy enough and clean, the AC worked very well and the breakfast was a joy to wake up to! We ate in the courtyard in the back of the hotel-Turkish or Americano coffee, choice of eggs and a bevy of fruits, yogurt, jams, cheese and breads would appear. We had a dinner there, served in the courtyard, that was exquisite-reservations were needed. Since the hotel is on a side street but a block from the water, it was quiet yet walkable to everything. Service was very good and overall a wonderful value.

We spent two nights in the charming Kocadon before our departure on a gulet trip through the islands. The friendly staff greeting after our very long journey was welcome, as was our very comfortable, quiet room with its charming, warm decor. The location is perfect: an easy walk to anywhere in town, with a Carrefours conveniently down the street for any toiletry or snack needs.

Kocadon Museum Hotel is hidden in the city like a hidden treasure. We have been coming to Bodrum for many years and we can't wait to stay again in this historical and very special hotel that we discovered by chance. Myk Denizden restaurant, owned by Masterchef Mehmet Yalçınkaya, located in the backyard is also a must-try restaurant.

Go soon, I imagine prices in this hotel will only rise. Each room has a theme and custom glass and tilework. Great AC, good location, history and mini museum exhibits everywhere showing local history and the history of the building. Comfortable beds, great all round.

2 gece kaldığımız otelin tarihi kokusundan, zarafetinden çok etkilendik. Hem konum olarak hem de kalite olarak kesinlikle tavsiye ederim. Kahvaltısı ve otelin arka bahçesinde ayrı bir işletme de olsa gurme restoranda yediğimiz akşam yemeği çok lezzetliydi. Personel de son derece güleryüzlü ve ilgiliydi . Otoparkı olması da şehir içinde büyük avantaj sağlıyor.

This is an exceptional authentic hotel where you feel the family history as well as an elegant taste and service both in the hotel and the accompanying restaurant. You can enjoy Mehmet Sef’s selection of seafood dishes as well as mezes. Breakfast was a positive surprise with local fruit jams and impressive cheese plate.
