Alacati Roka Tas Otel in Cesme

Management was abhorrent & definitely not a Boutique hotel

Let me start by saying I have never left a negative review & only wish the owner was humble enough to be open to constructive criticism rather than attacking customers for it.
Never have I stayed at such a ‘Fawlty towers’ hotel & it wouldnt surprise me if some of the latest reviews were aquaintances.
I’ll try to keep it brief but will post everywhere & tell all & sundry to stay away from this establishment. Also, my comments go for all rooms as friends were staying in other rooms.

Breakfast-just tea & instant coffee included, even water is extra otherwise breakfast was very good.
Rooms- No fridges, no bins, TVs do not work, no complimentary anything, dirty sheets, dusty furniture, plastic hangers from various outlets, filthy bathrooms, missing toilet roll holder & towel hook, unsafe sockets, towels were old & rough but when I mentioned these to the owner I was told that I was being fussy & if I didnt like it to leave! Funnily that evening soft towels were delivered to our room & a tv was installed in the communal area which felt like a youth hostel with old sofas (the hotel photos are old photos)
I dont blame the staff for anything as they are lead by example but we were so upset by the manners & behaviour of the owners that we left a night early despite having already paid. They completely ignored us after our friend complained about their bed breaking & was instead met with catty remarks about us within our earshot.
I am a global traveller & never have I ever experienced anything like it before, be it budget or higher end.
Book the right hotel & you will not be dissapointed as Alaçatı is beautiful.
Also beware that Roka has changed management since 2019

Past reviews refer to the previous and not the current owners. Roka is not what it looks like on the website. I have included photos. Management is not interested in customer service. Be careful of hidden extras being charged to you bill. At 11pm we entered our room (room 12) and my husband sat on the bed to remove his shoes and the bed collapsed. It was old and cheap. We had to wait 30 minutes for a manager to authorise a room move! No one helped us move our bags and no apology offered. The following day the exact same happened when I sat on the bed in our next room (room 6) The manager called in a maintenance person who said the beds are not fit for purpose. The chipboard used to hold the mattress is not part of the original bed and the tiny nails are not strong enough to keep the bed together. He said it could not be repaired. The owner arrived and would not accept this and so he brought in a carpenter. All the time we have no room as he would not move us. The carpenter said the same thing as the maintenance person. We were moved to room 10 which had a different bed, but the blue headboard was dirty as were all 3 rooms. The owners were so rude and told us these things happen and that we are complaining for no reason. All the other issues they told us had just been missed by their staff and we should accept this. The issues (photos) speak for themselves. Dirty tissues in cupboard left by a previous customer. The owner disputed this, but his staff member said it was true. Broken towel rails in bathroom, no toilet roll holder, dusty and dirty floors, dead moth in cupboard, lamps not working, stained bed sheets, black and green mold in the bathrooms, a bath removed but poles left sticking out of the walls. Build up in the soap dish from lack of cleaning. TV didn’t work in any of our rooms and no technician available to repair. Look at the clothes hangers! Owner brought in another person to fix the beds together and placed boxes under them in hope they wouldn’t collapse again for the next guest. There is so much more I can say but I think you can see from the photos this is not a place to stay if you want an enjoyable holiday. Professional hoteliers would not run a hotel in this manner. I hope my review helps.
