I started my stay at the penthouse, which was spotless. Housekeeping kept everything immaculate, and overall the hotel is very clean. I stayed for more than 8 days, and I really appreciated the friendly bar staff, the small touches like books in the room, herbal jar air fresheners, and the exquisite bathroom fittings.

However, the front desk—especially the night shift receptionist—was consistently rude and unhelpful. Communication was difficult due to limited English, and instead of hospitality, the attitude often felt dismissive. A taxi arranged through the hotel also turned into a bad experience, with the driver acting unprofessional and leaving me upset. The worst incident was with the night shift receptionist, who completely misunderstood me and insultingly questioned whether I had paid for my guest, even though I wasn’t talking about that at all.

The hotel has charm and cleanliness, but the professionalism at the night shift front desk needs serious improvement.

The check-in process was unnecessarily slow, and the receptionist — a man wearing glasses — did not greet me politely or acknowledge the wait. Instead of saying “Thank you for waiting” or “Sorry for the delay,” he said “It’s peak hour” in a dismissive tone, as if making a joke. When I replied that it’s not peak hour, he gave me a rude and unprofessional look, which made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. 

This kind of behavior is unacceptable for any hotel standard. Basic courtesy and respectful communication should be should be a given, especially from front desk staff who are the first point of contact for guests. regardless of how busy the front desk may be.

The hotel is really noisy as they have the live music bar in their outside restaurant. They said they would stop by 12pm but it actually lasted for around 2am even if we had complained twice. The staff at the reception wasn’t such friendly as expected. They breakfast was good, having a lot of choices.
