Doga Apartments in Kayakoey

We have just returned home from staying in Doga Apartments, kayakoy, for 2 weeks. If you like the outdoors, in a quiet and tranquil setting this is the place for you. Ali and Aynur are on hand, if required, providing delicious healthy breakfasts and other meals for you. Doga is very peaceful and yet should you wish to explore, the dolmus stop is just a short walk away, which opens up the sights and sounds of this beautiful area of Turkey. You can even get a coach to Istanbul or Antalya should you wish. Ali's garden is full of interest with chickens, cats, birds, fruit trees with pomegranites, peaches, plums, and grapes to name a few. Once you have experienced the tranquility and friendliness of the people I am sure, like many of Ali's customers you will want to return.

A tranquil stone house surrounded by nature for adults, and a safe environment for children…The presence of a pool is also a perfect detail for children…Thanks to the owner Ali Bey's caring and understanding approach and Aynur Hanım's cheerful demeanor and interest in children, we left this holiday with pleasure, determined to repeat it.

It was an amazing experience to stay at the stone house. I’ve felt more than 200 years of familes history, natural, eco, silent, friendly, simple, love….
If you want to run away from the crowded world, welcome!

Beautiful, peaceful location. Lots of fruit trees and chickens (and roosters!) We stayed in an apartment and enjoyed the spaciousness. The washer was not working so Ali offered for the housekeeper to do our laundry for us, which was much appreciated. We had one breakfast and Ali’s special bbq one evening, which was fish cooked in the fireplace. It was fantastic and highly recommended. The other nights we ate at Cin Ban, right next door and that was phenomenal! Ali runs the property by himself along with a lovely lady who is both cook and housekeeper. However, we did feel the challenge of this set up. The booking inquiry through the website was unanswered, but WhatsApp was quickly replied to. When we arrived, he did not have our reservation since the WhatsApp chat had apparently been removed from his phone because it was more than 90 days. All worked out but as others have mentioned, he takes cash only. However, we were aware of this at the time of booking, so we were prepared. While not ‘perfect’. We highly enjoyed our stay and much preferred to stay here as a home base, then in one of the very busy/crowded nearby cities.

We stayed for one night by car. Parking is on the premises. There was a sign on the road, so we found it right away. The grounds are quite large and green, with many different fruit trees. The apartments are located so you can't see any of the neighbors. We were checked into a house with a living area/kitchen and a bedroom. Cooking utensils are provided. There's a table and chairs outside by the entrance, where we had dinner that evening. There's a very nice pool and a cozy area around it.

Such a tranquil and beautiful place to say. Beautiful stone accommodation that keeps cool all day in the heat. Walking distance to the ghost town. Lovely pool area. Delicious home cooked food. Sadly inky stayed for two nights but next time certainly longer. My husband enjoyed playing backgammon with Ali the owner and he also invited us to watch football (there during the Euros) one evening with him.

We loved our time at Doga. Such an idyllic location. Ali was an amazing host. Kind, considerate and happy to share his knowledge of the area. Kayakoy feels like it is slightly of the beaten path (which is lovely) but so close to the gems of the area. Ali and his team served some of our favourite food of the trip. We loved wandering the grounds. Chickens, chicks, tortoises, cats, red squirrels could be spotted. Not to mention all the fauna. Absolute 10/10. Stunning and easy drives to all the places you’d want to visit.

Stayed here for 10 days and were given a much larger room, in fact it was more like a small apartment with a huge balcony. Very quiet most of the time until a large group of ramblers arrived and got drunk and rowdy. The owner Ali and his daughter were very helpful but Ali was a bit rude to us one day as we accidentally left the aircon on. Instead of asking us to go and turn it off politely he marched off to our room to do it himself. When we returned to our room we couldn’t find the remote but he’d placed it behind the bed in the alcove. Not really the way to treat your guests. Overall this place was lovely and would certainly recommend it, just make sure you turn the aircon off and shut all the windows.

This was by far the most relaxing holiday I’ve had in years. The pool was very quiet all the time as most of the visitors were off exploring the local area and beaches. Ali is a wonderful host, this place is amazing. Ali organised a transfer from the airport, and back again which was a help. The apartments and the pool were spotless. The location is brilliant, so quiet in a lovely traditional Turkish village. However in very easy reach Ölüdeniz, Fethiye, and Hisarönü. Within a 10 minute walk there are numerous lovely places to eat, and several mini markets for your essentials. Ali did a bbq night one night whilst we were there, the food was great, wish we had one the week before as well now. We can’t wait to go back!
