Description

Mimi Hotel Ankara is a four-star property built in 2012, offering a range of room types from Economy Double rooms to King Quadruple Suites. The hotel provides several amenities including a restaurant, sauna, massage services, free parking, and allergy-free rooms. Guests can expect express check-in/out, luggage storage, currency exchange, and grocery deliveries during their stay. Despite its star rating, multiple reviews note aging decor and ventilation issues in rooms, with some reporting unpleasant odors and small, dimly lit spaces. The staff receives consistent praise for professionalism and helpfulness, contributing positively to the overall experience. Breakfast is served buffet-style daily from 7:30 to 10:30 and features Turkish cuisine among other items. The hotel is smoke-free and pet-free, with strict policies enforced. While some guests have found the internet connection unstable and the elevator cramped, the location and service stand out as notable features.

Although marketed as a four-star hotel, the actual experience is closer to an outdated three-star standard, with clearly aging décor and facilities. The claimed renovation is not evident.

Rooms are poorly ventilated, uncomfortably warm, and affected by noticeable musty and smoke odors. These are merely masked with air fresheners rather than properly resolved, negatively impacting comfort. Lighting is dim, and the bedside lamp was not functioning. Soundproofing is weak, and the elevator is small with an unpleasant smell. Breakfast is acceptable.

The location is inconvenient—without a car, it is difficult to get around, and taxi fares to attractions can be costly. Staying closer to the city center is recommended.

The only highlight is the service: staff are professional and friendly.

The internet connection was very poor, constantly dropping. The elevator and bathroom smelled bad. The ******* rating for this hotel looked very good, but it really doesn't deserve that rating. I won't stay there again.

Bad experience with this hotel.
4 stars? I don’t know who gave it this hotel, I’m sorry.

Rooms:
Rooms are tired. Old furniture.

But okay, furniture is furniture. What really matter is SMELL.

First day it smelled like sewage.
Air conditioner works only if the window is closed. But there is no fresh air out from AC
Windows open only up, for a tiny space. No fresh air at all.

Next day it smelled cigarette.
We chose non smoking floor. But somehow it didn’t help.
AC didn’t help, window open didn’t help.
We came to reception and they helped us with a new room. But what? It didn’t help! :)))
Why? Our new neighbors were smoking in non smoking room!
We came to reception again and what?
Nothing! They said: we can do nothing.
We cannot enter rooms. It’s discomfort for guests.
Our discomfort and my migraine doesn’t mean anything.
Breaking rules by others, smoking - it’s okay!
It was 11 evening and surely where could we go?

I’m so angry with this discrimination of non smokers.
And helpless staff of hotel.
Who, by the way, doesn’t speak English at all (?)

Breakfast:
Breakfast is okay, nothing special, but we could find proper food.
Coffee from machine is a disaster.

Service:
only can tell about guy who helped us parking. He showed service and hospitality.
Others- don’t speak English and not even trying to help proactive.
Even not saying “sorry”
For smells, for not working safe box, etc

Ah and yes, WIFI is also horrible.
It’s 12 mb/sec (checked with speed test)
Usually it’s a 100 mb/sec :)

Hopefully my feedback changes at least something!
Or someone will not be that disappointed as we were and chooses different hotel

The worst hotel you will ever check in your life time. Morning manager does not listen to you. Very Rude attitude of the staff. Air conditioning doesnt work in the rooms. You can stay without AC but staff will not assist you. Its like take it or leave it situation so we decided to walk out on same day!

Good hotel with location but air conditioning system doesn't work in hotel. Guests sleep in warm weather without ac. Management is aware but they don't fix it. They try to convince you to open window use fan or eventually checkout. Not recommended hotel at allm management at the counter make you helpless. Extremely rude people

Mimi Hotel Ankara
I always choose this hotel for my stays.
It has a great location, and the rooms are clean and stylish. The staff is attentive and helpful. I especially enjoy the open-buffet breakfast, it’s always fresh and satisfying. Highly recommended.

The hotel rooms are very very narrow.

Mimi Hotel is a wonderful choice for travelers from all over the world. I am from Tanzania, I found it to be a safe, welcoming place with a central location that makes it easy to explore. The hotel is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The Turkish breakfast is absolutely delicious one of the best I’ve had! The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a comfortable stay. It’s perfect for both business and leisure travelers looking for a peaceful and convenient place to stay.

The worst hotel experience I’ve ever had! the Only positive point was the early checked-in they offered when we arrived! From the moment we arrived, problems started showing up one after another. The safe box was broken, so we couldn’t leave any valuables in the room with peace of mind. The internet was so weak and unstable that even sending a simple message was a struggle. The room had a strong, unpleasant odor, as if it hadn’t been properly ventilated in ages. Worst of all, the bathrooms were old, worn out, and felt more like something you’d find in a low-grade roadside motel. We had to change rooms multiple times due to all these issues, but each new room came with a different problem. Staying at this hotel was nothing but a waste of money and a complete headache. I absolutely do not recommend it!

Breakfast is okay, not very varied, but it tastes good. Unfortunately, I had a room on the first floor. It smelled of cigarette smoke, even though it was supposed to be smoke-free. The air conditioning didn't work well, or rather, it didn't let in any fresh air. The location is very optimal for quick access to the center.
