Our stay at Kistar Cave Hotel was nothing short of magical. Nestled in Uchisar, the surroundings are quiet and serene. The hotel offers amazing views of the surrounding caves and landscapes. We intentionally chose a location away from the bustle and Kistar proved to be the perfect retreat - peaceful and secluded, yet still conveniently close to Göreme for exploring.

What truly sets Kistar apart is its exceptional hospitality. We were welcomed with genuine warmth that made us feel less like guests and more like family. Each morning began with an unforgettable breakfast lovingly prepared by the anneanneler (Nonnas). It was evident that every detail was crafted with care. From freshly churned yoghurt, an array of homemade jams, freshly baked breads, vibrant salads, and beautifully slow cooked vegetables. Every breakfast felt like a heartfelt feast, and we deeply appreciated the time and effort poured into each spread.

Despite the winter chill outside, the rooms were well heated and comfortable. Even when temperatures dipped to zero degrees, we could relax indoors in just a t-shirt.

An unexpected treat was to see the hot air balloons take off from our balcony.

There are quite a few restaurants near the hotel - from local Turkish food to Asian and Italian.

Kistar Cave Hotel is a family-owned gem, and staying here truly feels like being at home, away from home. The owners gave us lovely treats to bring home and we are so touched by their warmth and kindness.

For those seeking tranquility, authentic hospitality, and a memorable Cappadocian experience, Kistar is the place to go to.

The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, very close to Uchizar Castle, about a 5-minute walk, offering views of half the castle. The facilities are good, and the hot water in the showers is excellent. As it's a cave hotel, I won't take pictures of the interior facilities, as they're all pretty much the same. What's noteworthy is the orientation and the balcony. If the city were filled with hot air balloons, the photos would be spectacular. Unfortunately, we weren't lucky enough to have one.

The cave hotel felt clean and not damp, though a little stuffy. The receptionist was very kind and brought a fan. The view was great, and the lobby was filled with the owner's collection of various musical instruments – very unique. The location is convenient, and parking is available in front.

The location of the hotel is quite good. You can see hot air balloons at 5:00 am on the first day. It's a pleasant surprise. The cave hotel is not so cold. It is very clean and tidy. It is worth experiencing. The location is very quiet and the room is large. The front desk staff is very considerate. They prepared a map and explained the travel route to us in detail. It is worth recommending. Parking at the door of the hotel is also very convenient.

My husband and I stayed here while spending our honeymoon in Türkiye. We traveled all over the country, but our stay in Kistar in Cappadocia exceeded both of our expectations. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, intimate, and peaceful; the receptionists Nihal and Omar (I apologize for any misspelling!) were so attentive, professional, courteous, and followed up on every detail; in addition to the ladies responsible for setting up the breakfast buffet which made you feel as if you were family. This is not even considering that the room we were placed in was incredibly spacious and had gorgeous views from our own private balcony. Overall, would rate even higher than a 5 if possible and would love to stay here again if we're able to make another trip. Thank you for everything (and also our going away gift of tasty lokum from the owners)!!

This hotel was welcoming, beautiful, comfortable and helpful. The owners live on-site and clearly take pleasure in welcoming guests. Sule on the front desk gave great recommendations for local restaurants, and went out of her way to organise a guide (who was excellent) and inquire about tours that would suit our large family group. The breakfast was delicious and the outdoor patio has a beautiful view. The suites are so roomy. A lovely place to stay.
