Mata Butik Hotel in Agva

There are no duvets in the hotel.

The most important function of a hotel is to provide a comfortable night's sleep for its guests. Unfortunately, Mata Hotel failed in this regard. There was no duvet in the room, and when we asked for one, we were told that all the duvets were being washed. We had to sleep with a blanket at the end of November.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant ambiance and food are nice, and the prices are reasonable. The breakfast is not bad, but it could have been better.

I didn't go with high expectations for a standard hotel. However, I preferred it because it had a winter garden and was by the river. The tea glasses brought on the first day were dirty and the tea was awful. Since it is a hotel that accepts children, there can be noise from children. On the second day, I think relatives of the employees there were staying in the winter garden and there was loud noise and laughter. Although they noticed this, there was no change in attitude and they continued as is. When it is raining, there is no chance of an umbrella outside, unfortunately. If you are looking for silence, stay away, especially in the winter months. There is not much community adulthood among our people.

Disappointed, potential but needs improvement
We arrived to a room that looked like it had been cleaned some time ago, the pillow had a dead bug on it and the floor looked to have dirt on it. We also found a big on one of our towels. The room was small and mattress did not feel good quality. We complained and the staff showed us alternative rooms which also had dirty floors like as if they had not been hoovered. We asked for a room to be cleaned that day. We then got an upgraded room which considering the hotel was not busy it would’ve been nice for them to have done automatically. The staff were helpful when we complained, however it would have been more pleasant if we didn’t have to complain. There’s also a lovely area by the river you can sit but the seat covers had been removed for cleaning hence there was very few pleasant areas to sit. The hotel should have a spare set of covers to apply if they plan to remove all available ones or alternatively clean half so people can still enjoy the seat and clean other half at another time. The breakfast which was included was pleasant and we also got a complementary Turkish coffee on arrival due to our discomfort with the room. The staff also had an issue holding our bags after check out, the were reluctant to take them, which you would imagine as a hotel that could provide this service.
